"Two weeks in and already a hungover?" mocked Jungwon, seeing his friend Jake holding an ice pack against his scalp the day following the party.
"I'm not hungover, idiot. I hurt myself."
"Same thing! Alcohol is still at fault."
"I wish it was alcohol alone. Instead, I got wrongfully attacked."
"By a wall?"
"No! By someone throwing me against the wall!"
"You have a very throwable head."
Jake took his face in his hand, sighing heavily.
"I'm telling you, I met a parasite in my bathroom the other night. No one is allowed in this part of the house. I don't remember exactly what happened, but he knocked me out!"
Jake tried to describe how the man looked like, but Jungwon seemed uninterested.
"Who are you talking about?" asked Sunoo, sitting at the table beside theirs.
"Jake met a gangster in his house last night. He said he fought him and lost."
Jake tried to rectify, but Jungwon cut him and explained to Sunoo what the parasite was supposed to look like according to Jake.
Jungwon had made his explanations kinda chaotic for mocking purposes, but Sunoo still nodded and replied
"Creepy black hair and a wound around his mouth? Maybe it's this guy."
Both Jake and Jungwon straightened up.
"This guy?" repeated Jake.
"Yes. Lee Heeseung. He's a little famous because of his gloomy presence and because he always get some random cuts all over him. People say he is just super clumsy."
"He's famous? He isn't a first year is he?" asked Jake, curious.
"Jake, my dear," sang Sunoo, "Don't worry, you're the only first year that can ever be famous after only two weeks of uni without humiliating himself publicly or committing a crime."
"How flattering," sang Jake back, before getting serious again.
"Lee Heeseung you say? I'll check him out at lunch. I have beef to sort out with him."*
Jake was not only famous, he was also a master detective, with the uni as his preferred operating scene.
It took him barely ten minutes to obtain the exact location of this certain Lee Heeseung,
"This sad looking guy? He's always sitting in the auditorium during lunch. Why are you looking for someone like him?"
"Sad looking?" Jake thought, while walking towards the auditorium.
This isn't the terms he would have used to describe this monstrous looking guy.
But he understood the term when he finally saw him.
Jake had to stare for a while before daring to approach, because he was really doubting he had the right person.
No flickering lights, no bloody wounds, no menacing aura, Lee Heeseung was simply grey. An almost invisible grey. Sitting at a desk, his face bended over his phone, his dark hair hiding his face, and a dry wound on the corner of his mouth.
Jake walked up to him and sat beside him,
"Finally, I find you."
When the boy turned his eyes towards Jake, the latter knew he had found the one he was searching for.
Lee Heeseung's empty eyes had lightened up, like cat eyes facing light. And now, side-eyeing Jake, were two very menacing flames.
