•five years later•

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" Cameron rung out the loudest out of everyone, I made a wish and blew out the candles.

"What'd you wish for, mommy?" Halley mumbled looking up at me from my lap.

"If I told you, it wouldn't come true now would it?" I smile down at her, she giggles and leans into my chest.

"I'm gonna go find Mason!" She exclaims hopping off my lap and running past everyone.

"Happy birthday, chick, you can legally drink now!" Madison whisper yells as I stand up, we laugh and she pulls me into a hug.

"So many things have changed, it's not even funny." She shakes her head as she pulls away, I nod and look over at Cameron who is crouched down to Mason and playing with a toy truck.

"Cameron's a good dad." I smile looking back at Madison, she nods and looks at me.

"And a great husband." She smiles, I fake gag and she laughs.

"So does Kyle, look at him with Halley, she looks like you." Madison smiles pointing off to where their sitting, I look over there and nod.

"Sometimes I wish I could reverse time." I sigh looking back at Madison, she looks at me confused and I lead her over to the couch.

"Life would've been so different, five years ago I was pregnant with, god knows who's child, and now look at me! I'm happily married, to neither of them and a daughter." I spill out in one breath, Madison laughs lightly and grabs a red solo cup, lifting it in the air.

"Cheers to that." She says air clinking her cup and bringing it to her lips, she chugs the whole thing down and throws it with a disgusted face.

"That was orange juice." She mumbles wiping her mouth, I laugh and the doorbell rings.

"I'll get it!" I shout, I walk past Kyle who is holding Halley, while talking to Cameron who is holding Mason, I open the door and it reveals a dressed up Nash.

"Nash! Hey." I smile engulfing him in a huge hug, he kisses my cheek when I pull away and smiles widely.

"What's up with the tux?" I ask poking his tie, he laughs and slaps my hand away.

"I just got back from Hayes' awards ceremony." He informs me, my smile goes down at the mention of his name and I nod.

"I can't take it anymore, I'm sorry Cameron." I frown shaking my head.

"Katie, please don't go, at least tell them!" Cameron says trying to persuade me, I look down and shake my head.

"They need to live their lives, I need to stop getting in their way! I'm leaving, I'll see you soon, okay?" I tell him, he hesitates then nods, before engulfing me in a hug, I start to leave but stop and turn around.

"Tell Hayes, I love him, and I always will." I tell Cameron, he nods and I wave goodbye before walking out the door and getting in the taxi.

(Hayes POV)

I find a note sitting on Katie's bed and wipe my tears from my cheeks, I sit down on the bed and pick it up, it spells out my name on the front, so I open and read it.

"Dear Hayes, I'm sorry we have to end this way, I didn't want to end actually... but things can't continue like this. something had to change, I'm ruining everyone's lives by just being there, I love you Hayes, I hope one day we can be friends again, until then, love always, Katie."

"Come in!" I smile waving him in, he steps in and sees Cameron with Kyle.

"Ew you're still married to that douche?" He asks and I roll my eyes looking up at him.

"I'm not lying. He misses you Katie." He says and I shrug, I take him over to everyone.

"Madison was just telling me about the dinner we're having with all of your old friends." Kyle says wrapping his arm around my waist, I look at her and smile gritting my teeth.

"Oh really?" I ask her and she smiles nodding.

"You guys want cake or not?" My dad asks and I turn to him.

"We're coming dad." I smile and he hugs me as we walk over to the table.
