Chapter 31

(Katie's POV)

"So today, what do you suggest?" Matthew asks me, as I place a plate of breakfast in front of him, I shrug and walk back to the stove for myself.

"I was thinking we could have a huge party with everyone tonight." I say turning around and Matthew stares blankly at me.

"I meant just us two." He says looking back down at his food, I sit down at the counter and get ready to eat.

"I just wanted to see everyone, and what they're up to." I tell him, he nods and we awkwardly finish eating, he stands up with an angry expression and puts his plate in the sink before leaving, I hear the door open and I guess Matthew opened it because no one else is here.

"You better slow down, girl." I hear Madison say with her voice coming into the kitchen, Halley runs in and clings to my legs.

"I missed you mommy." She says looking up at me, I smile and pick her up putting her on my lap.

"I missed you too baby." I smile at her, she smiles and picks some food off of my plate.

"Me and Mason were playing today, he said uncle Cameron was flirting with aunt Madison, because Shawn wasn't there." She tells me, I laugh and look up at Madison who is giving Halley a look, she sits down at the counter.

"Sooo, anything you wanna talk about?" I smile at her, Halley leaves and Madison looks back at me.

"He came over for a talk that's it." She tells me, I give her a look and she shrugs.

"Believe me or not, it's true." She says putting her chin in her hand, I smile and Matthew comes in with Halley on his side.

"Everyone is coming over tonight, as you wish." He smiles at me, I give him a small smile back and Halley pokes his ear.

"Ya know, on the tv they said that a monster escaped." He tells her and she gives him a scared look.

"You know what his name is?" He asks her and she shakes her head.

"The kissy monster!" He shouts starting to kiss all over her face, she starts laughing and we all laugh, Matthew takes her out of the kitchen and they go upstairs.

"I guess I should get to the store for tonight." I say standing up, Madison stands up as well and stops me.

"Can I clean the house? I don't want to be bored when you're gone." She smiles, I look and around and notice it is pretty dirty.

"I guess, but don't mess anything up." I shrug looking back and noticing she is crouching down at the cabinet below the sink, I laugh and head upstairs to get dressed, I hear the shower running and figure it's Matthew, I put on some skinny jeans, a loose T-shirt, and some toms, as I'm putting my shirt on Matthew comes out in a towel, I scream and cover myself with the shirt.

"Woah, I've seen you naked before, I mean I am your husband." He says holding his hands up, I put the T-shirt on and give him a look.

"I don't remember loving you, or even marrying you. It's weird to have you staring at me naked." I tell him, he scoffs and puts his hands down.

"Well, then why are you trying to have Hayes around? I just want to make you love me and you're trying your hardest to prevent it." He says angrily, I shake my head and walk out.

"Mommy! Aunt Madison said she was gonna spray me with bleach." She tells me, I laugh and pick her up, I bring her into her room and get her dressed, and she runs out ahead of me, I stand up and walk out, I run into Matthew as I walk down the stairs, he just passes me and leaves, I roll my eyes and tell Madison I'm leaving before walking Halley out, I make sure she's strapped in before getting in my own seat, she tells me to turn on the radio, the whole ride there we listen to kid songs, I sigh when I pull into a parking spot, I get out and unstrap her before we walk into the store, I get a buggy and sit Halley in the baby seat, she frowns and I don't pay attention to her.

I get chips, candy, beer, soda, and most importantly pizza, because you know there is gonna be a ton of people over tonight and I don't want them eating my food.

"Mommy, I want to but Hayes a present." Halley smiles up at me, I laugh and shake my head.

"He doesn't need anything." I tell her, she pouts her lip and I act like I don't see her again, I go into the least busiest aisle, I check out and stroll the buggy out to my car, Halley helps with a few groceries before getting in the car, I finish and put the buggy in the rack, I get in the car and see Halley is already strapped in, the ride home was the same way there, I pull into the driveway and see Cameron getting out of his car.

"Uncle Cameron!" Halley screams loudly, she hops out of the car and runs to him, I laugh getting out of the car and walking over to him, some blonde gets out of the passenger with Mason behind her, I roll my eyes back to Cameron and they smile at each other as she walks to him.

"Oh, Katie this is Michelle, Michelle this is Katie." He smiles back and forth between us, she gives me a fake smile and I return it.

"She's my modeling partner, slash good friend." He says putting his arm around her, I nod and look down at Mason who is rolling his eyes beside Halley.

"Michelle, can you get some groceries out from my car or are you scared to break a nail?" I smile at her, she gives me a look and walks to my car.

"Really? She's just a friend." Cameron says giving me a look, I shrug and watch her whimper when she almost trips with two bags in her hands.

"Kids, can you go help the poor girl?" I sigh looking at them, they nod and walk to my car as well, I turn back to Cameron and smile.

"Don't be rude, she's just a friend, and plus Madison is over me." He tells me, I laugh sarcastically and shake my head.

"You're so dumb brother." I tell him shaking my head more, he laughs and hugs me, when we pull away we head inside.

"Yay, you're here, I've gotta talk to you." Madison says as soon as I come in and drags me into the kitchen, I give her a confused look and she sits me down.

"Who the hell is the blonde chick?" She says angrily looking out of the kitchen window, I smirk and she looks over at me.

"Is someone jealoussss?" I say dragging the letters, she snorts a laugh and looks back to the window, I watch her and she looks back at me nodding, I nod and stand up, I hug her and she sniffles into my shoulder.

"Am I not good enough?" She asks me pulling away from me, I hear someone clear their throat, we look and see Cameron.

"Madison, you're way more than good. You're perfect, that girl is just my partner and she likes me, but she knows I love someone else. I've been waiting for the best moment for this, and I guess this is." He says looking at me, I nod and smile widely, he looks back at her and gets down on one knee, I gasp and she does too.

"Will you marry me, Madison Vera Troy?"
