Chapter 23

(Katie's POV)

"Halley! Come get your shoes on!" I shout throwing her shoe across the room, Kyle steps in the door way and gives me a look of sympathy.

Halley comes in the room covered in dirt, my eyes widen and I scream loudly, Kyle jumps up and I stuff my face in my hands.

"I'll get her a bath, get her dressed and we can go, get ready babe." He says and I nod, he kisses my forehead and walks out with her, I get up and go into the bathroom, I took a shower an hour ago so I finish drying my hair and curl it lightly.

I put on some lipstick and eyeliner and then walk into my closet, I bring out this cute and tight black dress, I grab black pumps and dress into them, I look in the mirror and smile, because I feel amazing.

"Ready babe?" I hear Kyle shout and I look in the mirror one last time, I nod and walk out grabbing my purse.

"Ready." I smile walking out and seeing him there with Halley, he hands her to me and we go downstairs, Halley and I walk out while Kyle sets the alarm.

I strap her in and get in my seat, I buckle up while Kyle gets in, we stay silent while we drive there, we walk in and see everyone at a big table.

"Hey!" Madi smiles and hugs me, I smile hugging her back and she looks at Halley and Kyle.

"There's the girl I love." She smiles putting her arms out, Halley smiles and Kyle hands her to her.

"I missed you aunt Madi." She smiles hugging her, Madi smiles and puts her down, she runs over to Mason and Emily.

"How's Emily doing?" I ask Madi and she smiles softly.

"She's good, taking a little while to adjust to the whole split parents thing." She says rocking her hand and I nod, Emily is Trevor's child, but when Trevor passed Madi found a new guy and they were together when Emily was born, but they split a few months back and Emily thinks that the other guy is her actual dad.

I drift my eyes to everyone else and see Hayes playing with Mason, Halley, and Emily.

"I'll be right back." I smile, she nods and I walk over to Hayes.

"Wow." He smirks looking me up and down, I smile and sit beside him.

"You look amazing." He whispers and I roll my eyes.

"Yeah, how are you?" I ask trying to make small talk and he shakes his head.

"It's not like you care." He shrugs and I roll my eyes once again, I face forward and see Carter and Taylor in front of us.

"Hey!" I smile and they look at us.

"Hey, when'd you get here?" Taylor smiles standing up and hugging me over the table.

"Just a few minutes ago." I answer hugging Carter, we pull away and sit down.

"Where's Matthew?" I ask Carter and he looks around.

"I don't know, he told me he might not make it." He shrugs and I nod, I glance at Hayes and see him looking at me.

"What?" I ask him and he looks forward avoiding me.

"You're annoying me." I growl at him and he shrugs.

"You always annoy me." He smiles and I flip him off under the table and he gasps.

"No, not your middle finger." He says and turns, his hand hits a water spilling it all over the floor, I grab napkins and start to clean it up.

"Great bend over more." Hayes whispers bending next to me and then sitting up.

Tonight's gonna be a long night.
