Chapter 8: Student Vs. Master

Amy woke up as she notice a desk with a tray of chocolate chip pancakes with syrup on side, couple sausadges, and a cup of orange juice while a note front of it. So took the note and read it.

"Sonic can cook now? Have I went into the dark ages now...?" Amy thoughted, remembering the times Sonic try to cook and ended with either burning the food, or almost the house down. Amy took a piece of the pancakes. "Here goes nothing...." She ate it and eyes widen as she started eating the rest. "This is actually pretty good.... this could be good as my cooking..." A text came up with Vierno so grab her phone and read it.

"Training Day, there's one more thing left to teach and it'll be over." Vierno texted.

Amy started texting. "After 8 years and is now over. About time..."

Vierno texted back. "Well you took ur time. Be here in 10."

Amy texted again. "Okay." She quickly finished her breakfast, get ready and ran outside to see Vierno in his outfit.

"Almost late I see?" Vierno asked.

"Hedgehog left breakfast. Still wondering how got in." Amy told him.

"He actually came by and ask assistance for that. So, I let him." Vierno explained. "Anyways, time for your last lesson."

"What is it?" Amy asked as Vierno putted on his kitsune mask on.

"To defeat me." Vierno told her as he kneels her to the stomach as she was launched back but she got on her feet as slide across the grassy plains. Vierno try to shoot at his student as Amy used a grappling hook to grab his pistol and pull it towards her and grabbed it. Before she could aim it back at him, Vierno came up close with his sword as Amy dodge and drew hers and block each other's attacks as they try to overpower each other. "Is that the best you can do after all these years?"

"Just warming up old man." Amy told her Master as she overpowers him and does a couple of strikes, he barely blocks them as the fox jumps back to gain distance. Amy ran up to him and try to strike at him again, but Vierno swiftly dodge and try to slash but Amy grabbed a dagger from her belt and use it parry his attack.

"Very good." Vierno said as he gets faster on attacking. They keep on parrying each other's attack and won't let up on it. They collide their blades again and try to overpower each other again, but this time, Amy let go of her sword and roll under them as she used the dagger right against his throat, signaling he lost the fight.

"It's over old man." She smirked. After a moment of silence, as the old fox laugh.

"Very good my girl!" He said as he sheathed his sword as Amy does the same. He took off his mask while saying, "You made this old man proud." He shows his smiles. "I have nothing left to teach you. Well done."

"Thanks, father.." Amy smiled. "But question, why did you let Sonic go to my room?"

"It's time for you to learn to forgive fully," He stated.

"But I did, didn't I?" She asked.

"I can tell you still have some vendetta." He told her.

"....But why him? Why you want me to get close to him again?" Amy asked. "You know what he had done to me. So why him?"

Vierno sighed as he looked at the base, "My girl..... I'm getting old. I'm in at my late 40s and I've seen a lot. Some wars, bloodshed, tears, and many, many grieving. I had no family left after the ARK, I was alone for a long time. But you do have a family, it's best to keep it after I'm gone." Next thing that happen, arms wrapped around Vierno, which surpises him.

"Vierno... you aren't alone." Amy told him. "When I was little, I lived in a orphanage, so I had no idea who is my mom and dad... but you're like a father figure to me. You always there when I cry, when I felt alone, or when I never want anybody to talk to me. You're the best father figure ever." Vierno started crying from hearing what his 'daughter' told him.

"Thank you for being a good daughter to me." Vierno said, wiping his tears away.
