Anisha's POV :
Yesterday's events kept running in my head as I was busy with my morning rounds.
I was soo lost in my thoughts that I couldn't comprehend what the patient spoke just now.
I looked down at her medical chart for the name, and then replied
"I'm sorry Denise! I didn't hear what you said, any issues?"
"Yes doctor! I feel cramps from the morning, I can't bear the pain. Is the baby coming out today?" the patient spoke softly, in a bit of pain.
"It's okay Denise, first you need to relax. I just did the pelvic exam before you spoke, the cervix is yet not fully dilated. There's still time for the labor. Just breath slowly and relax yourself, and call the nurse whenever needed. Alright?"
"Okay doctor!" she breathed out.
"Take care Denise! I'll come back again later Okay." I rubbed her forarm before leaving the ward.
She was the last one in the opd under my observation, so I went towards my cabin and sat on the couch.
I unlocked my phone to read dad's text which had details of Kunal which I hadn't bothered to read before I met him but now I had grown curious about him.
'What might be the reason he didn't want to get married? Is he already in a relationship? hmm or is he gay!'
All these thoughts were so very distracting. I saw his hometown is same as my parents' hometown. My parents had moved to thier current city - my hometown, after they got married.
Kunal is the only child of his parents, now lives in a different city for his work.
I was bored nothing interesting was written in there, as I scrolled down to see his picture. And remembered how good he looked yesterday. And was startled when I saw someone peeping into my phone, sitting by my side.
"ohh I saw this handsome man yesterday!" Aunt Susie told me before I could turn off my cellphone.
"Why do you have his picture dear? Do you know him?" she spoke again as I didn't speak.
"He is Dr Kunal, a relative of mine" I lied not wanting to disclose the previous day's details. But when did she see him? Was she at the cafe too!?
"Where did you see him Aunt Susie?" I tried pry details from her.
"Ahh, I saw him in the Trinity clinic, late night. he was there to take home the discharged patient from the clinic. Actually he was at the clinic day before yesterday too." she said trying hard not to sound annoyed.
"What happened Mrs Susie Adler? Who dared to annoy you! Take this candy and give me a smile" I said chuckling, and handed her a candy from the box on my desk.
"Ohh dear!" she gave me a wholesome grin after putting the orange candy into her mouth and said, "these young kids I tell you, they have no interest towards the future and family at all Ani! This handsome doctor had come to the clinic with another beautiful lady for her Tubectomy surgery. I mean this is the time to get married and have children, if not now then when will she bear kids, at my age?"
Aunt Susie has always been like this, She keeps pestering me to get married, have kids soon as I'm getting older and there is high risk of complications later on according to her. I sighed.
"It's Alright Aunt Susie! calm down, let's not worry about others yeah? Did you miss me yesterday?" I asked wiggling my brows, trying to change the topic.
"ohh yes dear! you rarely take leave from the hospital. Were you sick dear?" she touched my forehead with concern.
"I'm absolutely good. Nothing happened I just took a day off to relax" I said smiling.
