Anisha's POV:

Rosie was already waiting for me at the entrance when I arrived at her cafe. She seemed concerned and restless. As soon as she saw me she came and hugged me.

She dragged me to the inner chamber of her cafe and was almost on the verge of crying. I didn't like this, I didn't like this at all. I almost got angry on Kunal was creating this mess but I knew he didn't intend to do it, and after all even he is bearing the consequences of his action.

I sighed and tightly hugged Rosie and broke this silence, " Stop sobbing you silly! Why are you so emotional? Nothing serious has happened actually you know. " I said. For which she became furious, "Nothing serious about it! Really Anisha? I was so happy for you, you had finally married and was happy with your husband is what we all believed. But now everything seems like a facade. I don't know why God has made your life this way Ani, I just can't digest this." And she starts sobbing again.

"This was my decision Ro, all of this was my own decision. It was all discussed and set before marriage itself. No emotions were ever involved. So you don't have to worry."
I said no longer able to see her that way.

"What!!" This shocked her, "Why would you do that to yourself?" She was in utter disbelief. "And... And what about that lunch party at your house? You both seemed so much into each other! "

"That was pretense, We don't love each other, never did and never will"

"Ohh Ani! Why?? Why did this happen to you? You deserve the best and I thought after all the things you went through, you were finally happy and got what you deserve." She hugs me tightly.

"I am happy Ro. Don't worry I have what I wished for, nothing could be better actually." I push her out of the hug and say, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you this before, but I knew your reaction would be something similar so only I hid it." I look into her eyes, she seems confused and sad. She sighs and I wipe her tears away, "It's alright, everything is just fine, me and Kunal are good" By holding both my hands and with hopeful eyes she said, "Can things ever change between you too?"

I didn't want her to be more hurt, but I knew if I lied again she wouldn't forgive me, so I thought of changing the topic,

"Mhm..... I don't know about that but I certainly know that I'm going to die of hunger if you don't get me some pie, And I have to run back to hospital before my mentor comes in search of me"

"Dramatic, we will continue our talk later, don't forget that." She said with fake anger and was already out to get the pie, leaving me smiling at her back. I loved her, she was my only close friend with years of friendship and couldn't come to think of loosing her. She was such a naive and sweet person, who believed everyone was good and nothing bad can happen to people she loved. But she was unaware or just wasn't able to see things for what they are, I just hope nothing bad happens in her life. One who cried for my lost love life I don't know how she will ever survive anything like that happening to herself.

Kunal came home late that night, I was working on some case Dr Jones gave me, in the living room when he came inside looking tired.

"Met Lakshit?" I asked looking at him, he slumped next to me on the sofa, "Yeah, we both were busy until 9pm so had to meet him after work itself." He replied.

"How did it go?" I asked looking back into my laptop.

"He was a bit pissed but he said he somewhat knew this, he had the doubt during that lunch party itself and actually was testing his doubt by pushing me to the limit yesterday." Kunal said. It surprised me, I turned towards him intrigued, "And? "
