Their Anguish My Satisfaction

Chapter 10

  Mia woke up feeling tired so she decided to just lay on her bed since it was a weekend. She totally forgot that her grandmother would be going back to her own home since Jack had already been buried.
"Mia, I see you haven't gotten out of bed" her granny smiled
"good morning granny"
she mumbled rubbing her eyes as she sat up
"you remember I'll be leaving today right?"
"oh granny I totally forgot"
"really? that funny"
granny chuckled
"that means you have no plans of coming with me"
"Granny don't worry about me I'll be fine"
Mia smiled
"why shouldn't I be worried? I will always see you as my grandchild. I'm sure Glenda will throw you out as soon as I leave come on Mia where will you go when she does that?"
granny asked taking Mia's hand "well a friend of mine has agreed to let me stay with him so you don't need to worry about me granny"
Maya said calmly
"this friend of yours is a he?"
Granny asked with a frown
"yes. I know what you are thinking but granny he is my best friend we've been friends for a long time so that's not going to happen"
Mia quickly replied when she saw the look on granny's face
"HE IS A GUY"
granny said stressing every word she said "guys are not to be trusted, he'll hurt you Mia. I know you are an adult now but Mia you have to be careful you don't want to become a single mum"
"Granny this particular one isn't like that I've known him for some time now and he's giving me no reason to not trust him I'm not going to become a single mum okay? we are just friends granny, F-R-I-E-N-D-S"
"all right I guess I should get going now oh and don't forget to call me if anything goes wrong okay?"
"okay granny I'll keep that in mind".
As soon as Granny left she started packing her things
"I see you're not going to wait for me to throw you out"
Glenda said with a frown and her hands crossed but Mia didn't respond she knew Glenda just wanted to insult her as always so she kept quiet.
"what happened, can't talk anymore?"
Glenda asked but still no reply. She charged towards Mia and pulled her hair
"answer me you fool you don't remain quiet when I question you"
She screamed angrily
"please leave me alone"
Mia tried to free herself from Glenda's grip
"or what? why don't you defend yourself you witch come on hit me"
Glenda laughed until Maya  came out. She didn't know what Glenda was expecting but she was going to give her what she was asking for. She elbowed Glenda's stomach and went ahead to pull her hair after she freed herself from Glenda's grip
"I warned you to stay away from me Glenda why have you deliberately come to provoke me why do you find it so hard to learn your lesson?"
Maya asked angrily
"let me go. I know you killed my husband you killed him why don't you kill me too? why let me live while my husband is dead" Glenda cried
"because wicked you are, lonely and painfully you shall perish I shall not be the one to take your heart the Reaper shall come soon and claim you he shall. Warn you I did, disobedience you chose. So why does thou grief now that the reward is here?"
Maya asked with a strange voice, her eyes glowing red shocking Glenda
"who are you?"
Glenda asked moving away from Maya making her laugh
"does thou fear the cold grip of death now that it lurks around?"
Maya asked moving closer to Glenda who was now backing away
"wh-what d-do you mean?"
"they that seek death Shall surely find the death. Your time is not now seeing you die now shall never satisfy me so I shall not rip out your heart. Wicked you are, suffer you shall until the earth get tired of you. Lonely you are, lonely you shall die"
Maya responded with her hair and eyes now glowing bright red
"you are a witch!" Glenda gasped
"and so are you"
Maya responded then took the things Mia had earlier packed and left. Glenda watch her live in fear, she was speechless and couldn't utter a word. Was this Mia? what had happened to Mia? who was this person that spoke strangely to her? this person was so strange. Could it be that she was the cause of Jack's death? she never denied nor accepted that she killed him and even though she did, what was she going to do about it and how was she going to prove it to the world? At least she was out of her house now. Glenda thought to herself.
   When Charlotte got to Lizzy's house she met her grandma knitting a jacket outside she greeted her and went straight to Lizzy's room where Kelly and Lizzy were waiting for her
"hey girls"
She greeted
"umm so are you going to tell us the problem now?"
Lizzy asked
"yeah what happened to you?" Kelly agreed
"okay so I was having the nicest dream ever and...."
"wait what! you came here just to tell us about your dream?"
"Lizzy shut up and let me finish.
As I was saying I was having the nicest dream ever where I and James were having a really good time then suddenly he turned into a strange Lady and the lady commanded me to stay away from James saying that he was hers and she threatened to make me stink if I continued going close to James"
Charlotte narrated as Kelly and Lizzy listen to her
"wait so you're offending those in the spirit world now?"
Kelly asked jokingly
"Kelly could you please be serious for once this isn't a joke what do you guys suggest I do?"
"leave him alone it's as simple as that"
Lizzy replied
"what! I can't just leave the guy I love because of a weird dream or a strange lady"
Charlotte disagreed making Lizzy and Kelly laugh
"hold on a second did I just hear you say love like l-o-v-e?"
Lizzy asked
"I'm pretty sure that's what she said"
Kelly replied laughing
"talk about confusing lust for love"
Lizzy added
"what is wrong with the both of you? I'm sharing something this important with you and you're laughing at me?"
Charlotte's asked angrily
"no no no. why would we do that? we are totally not laughing"
they both giggled
"you know what I'll just figure out what to do on my own I don't need you clowns!"
Charlotte said angrily getting ready to leave
"you better leave the man alone for Ghost lady don't say I didn't warn you"
Kelly warned as they both watched Charlotte slam the door.    Meanwhile when Maya got to James's house he was so excited he welcomed her in with a warm hug and gave her a tour around the house
"so umm unfortunately this is the only room in this house"
he said calmly rubbing the back of his head
"it's fine, we can share it. I mean you would be okay with that right?"
Mia asked with a smile
"yeah totally I like sleeping on the left side of the bed in case you're okay with sharing the bed too or I could sleep on the couch if that would make you uncomfortable"
"oh no I mean you own the bed and the house I have no right to make you uncomfortable in your own house by making you sleep on the couch so we'll just share the bed"
"mmm share a bed is so going to be fun"
James laughed looking at the bed
"nothing is totally going to happen between us on that bed" he added making Mia turn to look at him
"what could happen?"
she asked with a serious look on her face
"nothing, absolutely nothing"
James answered with a smile
"I'm tired and hungry I think I still have some food stuff in the kitchen"
"great I'm going to prepare lunch if you don't mind"
"you can cook?"
James asked looking surprised
"of course I can cook my granny taught me how to cook"
"surprise me with an amazing dish the kitchen is all yours"
James said with a smile. Mia proved to James that she could cook by preparing one of her granny's favourite dishes
"wow this is good!"
James said when he tasted the food. When they were done Mia took a bath and decided to take a nap while James went to visit a friend of his. By the time he got home dinner had already been prepared by Mia which he didn't expect. Normally he'd just buy something to eat but now Mia was living with him and she was doing an amazing job.
When it was time for them to go to bed they just sat on the bed and awkwardly stare at each other
"so I'll just go to sleep here on my own side of the bed"
James said breaking the awkward silence
"oh umm okay goodnight"
Mia replied as they both closed their eyes. That night Mia couldn't sleep she kept glancing at James as different thoughts flooded her mind
"what is wrong with me why am I having these kinds of thoughts? James is just my friend and all he is doing is helping me so why am I having these kinds of immoral thought?"
She questioned herself silently as James woke up
"what's wrong? are you finding it hard to fall asleep?"
he asked sitting up
"yes I am"
Mia answered with a smile
"so what can I do to help you sleep like a baby?"
"can you hold me?"
"you want to cuddle?"
"yes it will help me fall asleep"
Mia smiled getting closer to James
"okay whatever the Queen wants"
James smiled. Mia fell asleep in James arms it was both exciting and weird for her because she was sleeping on the same bed with a guy for the first time. Next morning she woke up but didn't find James on the bed instead the sweet aroma of food filled the air. She smiled to herself and went straight to the kitchen and saw that breakfast had already been served
"Mia good morning I didn't realise you were awake"
"yeah I just woke up. Wow you made breakfast it smells so good"
"yeah thanks"
"okay I'll just go and take my bath and come join you"
"you better hurry up before your food gets cold"
James laughed as Mia ran to take her bath. Few minutes later she joined James on the table
"James?"
"yeah?"
"thank you once again for letting me stay here"
she said breaking the silence
"it's okay Mia you can stay here as long as you want"
James replied with a smile
"okay so my grandma has promised to sponsor me in school since my dad's wife obviously won't to be doing that as dad passed away and I'm also going to get a job since it won't be fair if you are the only one paying all the bills"
"oh Mia you don't have to do that. I can take care of both of us I'm sure the money I earn would be enough to pay our bills"
"James you're so sweet but no I refuse to be useless in this house"
she said making James laugh
"you're not useless Mia"
"man come on it's not like I'm your wife or girlfriend I'm just a friend you're helping"
"we could change that"
James smirked
"say what now?"
"finish up your food let's go out"
"go out to where?"
"you haven't met my friends yet have you?"
"you have friends?"
Mia asked with a surprised look making James laugh
"you'll meet them today".

   Is it just me or did things get even more interesting?
Will Mia and James'
relationship become more interesting or will they just remain friends forever? 🤔🤔 I guess we'll have to keep reading to find out.
