Their Anguish My Satisfaction

Chapter 15

  The next day Mia went back to Granny's place but she still had a worried look on her face. James noticed something was wrong  and asked her about it but she refused to tell him what was wrong. She just smiled and told him she was fine before leaving. When she got to Granny's place she greeted her without showing her usual excitement; she then went silently to her room ignoring Granny's question. Granny immediately knew something was wrong so she gave her some time to relax before attempting to find out the reason for Mia's moodiness. As expected Mia refused to open up; I mean how was she supposed to tell Granny that a supernatural creature was after her? how was she supposed to tell Granny she got initiated into somewhere she didn't know out of her ignorance? how was she supposed to tell Granny that the supernatural creature wanted herself and her unborn children to become slaves?

   As the days passed by each night became worse as Maya continuously tormented her, she now lived in fear, she couldn't get much sleep because whenever she closed her eyes Maya would appear and she spent the days in her room.

All these was affecting her relationship with James, she no longer spent time with him and whenever he came visiting she would lock herself up in her room which confused both James and Granny. James felt felt hurt and confused, he wanted if he had unknowingly  hurt her so bad that she now hated him to the extent of locking herself up whenever he was around. He sent her thousands of texts asking what was wrong and also apologizing but Mia didn't respond. Poor James felt lost without the queen of his heart, his heart ached whenever he opened his phone expecting to find a text from Mia but getting none.

However he refused to give up, he believed that someday things would return back to normal which was why he never stopped visiting her.

  Mia's sudden change also affected Granny. Granny worried for Mia so much because what she was hiding was obviously eating her up. She had lost a lot of weight and she also refused to leave her room. Granny's attempts to bring her back to her cheerful self was futile.

"Granny I'm fine. You should stop worrying about me, I'm okay and tell James that I love him" She would always say with a smile while she was obviously dying slowly.

   Mia wished she could talk to someone about what she was going through but she didn't want to bring Granny and James into the mess she had ignorantly gotten herself into so she just stayed in her room waiting for Maya to take her life. According to Maya it was either she worshipped her or she die so she chose the latter.

  She hid her problem until one night; Maya appeared to her physically this time in all her glory.

"Mia why do you resist me? I helped you, so why have you chosen death instead of me?" Maya asked slowly

"So you have finally come to take my life, just go ahead, kill me because I will never belong to you" Mia responded fiercely angering Maya

"then prepare to die like your mother" Maya said with a dangerously calm voice then disappeared leaving Maya confused

"what do you mean? come back!" Mia screamed but was interrupted by a knock on the door

"Mia open the door; are you okay in there? open up" Granny said

"Granny I-I didn't expect you to be up by this time" Mia said with a fake smile trying to hide her fear after letting Granny in

"Mia you can't keep doing this. I know you're suffering Mia but you are refusing to open up to me. What is going on?" Granny asked with tears in her eyes

"Granny, you don't have to shed tears. Nothing is going on I'm fine" Mia replied looking away from Granny

"Really? everything is alright and yet you lock yourself up in this room, you hide whenever James comes over. I can't even remember the last time I saw you eat something now you are yelling at the middle of the night yet you say all is well? Maybe you no longer need me in this world. Will you be happy if I die?"
