The morning after, everyone laughed at themselves for indeed having red puffy eyes, boasting about how much they cried to their letters. But they could all come to the conclusion that they all missed Yeji Unnie.
Those days were undeniably preferable, her brother is a great mentor, but he's just way too professional, like he doesn't really know how to build relationships with others or have fun. No one could care as much Yeji did either.
But maybe it's time to stop comparing everyone to Yeji.
What hurts more? Losing someone forever, or losing someone over and over, never being able to see them even though they're right there.
"Okay, everyone, what was the favorite part of all of your letters- naur- the funniest. I don't want to cry again." Danielle suggested as they ate breakfast.
"Yeji Unnie told me that even though I have my mother's face, I shouldn't grow into some of her elegantly idiotic ways." Winter chuckled, sharing hers.
"What ways?" Ryujin questioned, wondering if she wanted to know.
"You don't wanna know." Winter responded.
"Yeji Unnie told me- aish..." Yuna started, but she got embarrassed and paused, "I wanted to be an idol, so I had many audition videos of myself and I shared one with Yeji Unnie because I was proud of it, but I sent her the wrong one. It was one where I had a horrible voice crack, but I kept my confidence and went on as if nothing happened. Yeji Unnie told me to keep the same confidence as that day for the rest of my life."
"I have to see that video, BAHAHA." Ryujin teased, making Yuna pouted.
"In mine," Ryujin sighed, "She told me to keep my ass as fat as my ego." Ryujin covered her own mouth in embarrassment.
"What ass?" Winter teased, earning a look of pure shock from Ryujin, she copied the reaction. "Oh mian (sorry). But we're in America now, Ryujin-ah..."
"Well. Apparently, Yeji likes my ass and thinks it's fat so I don't need to be speaking to you." Ryujin said, starting an argument full of sarcasm.
"Ya michinya... (you crazy bitch) it's not my fault that Yeji Unnie is seeing things. Remember, she's not well. She hit her head!" Winter retorted.
"Ani, she knew well before the attack. Why do you think we began hooking up in the first place? Huh? Because she thinks my ass is ugly? Oh?"
"You were available."
"Ya... I bet it's as cold as your name down there, majji? It's cold and dry, waiting for spring rain. You're always available, yet you have no scandal. Wae? (Why is that?)"
"I'm focused." Winter squinted.
"Nado (me too)!" Ryujin bit back.
"On what? Your training or Unnie's chest? You may be short, but it doesn't take that much work to look up at her eyes."
"Yaish- nappeunya-"
"Okay! I'll say mine." Danielle stopped them. Finally someone stopped them. "Mine was that she said, 'no homo, but you remind me of a rainbow.'"
"Oh? Is she hitting on children now?"
"Anieyo! She meant that Danielle reminds her of a rainbow for it's physical features, not the sexual orientation. She's just not trying to assume Dani's sexuality. Aish neo jinjja... (Damn you really are... something)" Winter corrected her, more sarcasm in her face.
"Unnie really knows us well," Dani said, finishing her crispy potato pancakes with melted cheese on top.
Upon the drive to the airport, Ryujin revealed that she had been promoted to Pilot the day before as a Christmas gift from Marshal Kim. She got hell for hiding it from them too.
