both Glimmer and Mercelyn were waiting outside of the throne room. Queen Angela then spoke,
"send them in."

they entered a royal hall and approached the Queen who sitting on her throne. they both kneeled down to show respect.

"Your Majesty." both the Princess and Mercelyn spoke in unison.

Angella took a deep breath in, calming herself. she looked at the pair and finally spoke,
"I'm told you disobeyed orders and led the Rebellion into a dangerous combat situation after you were ordered to retreat."

"I was trying to protect a village from falling into The Horde's grasp." Glimmer tried to reason with her.

her mother scolded her,
"you were reckless and put yourself and the other rebels in danger."

Mercelyn also broke her silence, she never liked lying or leaving out important details.

"with respect, your majesty, I had told Glimmer to retreat, but she disobeyed my orders as well. she endangered not only herself and the others, but she was also endangering me. if it wasn't for me, I don't think we'd even be in this room."

"how are we going to hold our own against The Horde if we keep retreating? pretty soon, we won't have anything left to defend." the Princess beside Mercelyn spoke up again, this time raising her voice, wanting to speak her truth as well.

"I'm growing tired of your back-talking, Commander Glimmer." the queen pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed.

Glimmer then yelled,
"why did you even make me a commander if you won't let me fight?"

Angella's wings expanded and ruffled up as she told her daughter,
"that's enough! you're...grounded!"

Glimmer scoffed at her statement,
"mom!"

"you heard me!"

"you never let me do anything!" Glimmer argued with her mother even more.

"we are not having this discussion tonight. You are embarrassing me in front of my royal court." Angella scolded.

"oh, I'm embarrassing you?" Glimmer pointed at her mom.

"go to your room!" the queen finally had enough of her bullshit.

"I'm going!" the princess threw her cape back as she stormed out.

Mercelyn also started to walk out as well, but Queen Angella stopped her,
"Officer, make sure she doesn't try to sneak out or do anything stupid."

"of course." she reassured the queen before walking out and heading to Glimmer's room.

Glimmer's Room

the officer walked in and saw Glimmer laying on her stomach. she started thinking out loud and proceeding writing in her diary,
"Dear Mom, I know you'll never read this, but I have to say it somewhere. I feel like you... don't respect me."

Mercelyn sat next to her on the pink poofy chair that was placed next to her, but as soon as she sat down, her head was almost skewered by an arrow.

Glimmer shrieked, meanwhile the officer stayed calm.
