Did Matthew Casey know that his ex wife and his now fiancés ex boyfriend were coming back to Chicago? Nope.

Did he really care? No, at least he didn't care for himself, but for his fiancé it was different. 

She was an amazing and lovely person. But she was also a very insecure person. And with Gabriela coming back it would be hell for her.

Matt never expected that the day after he proposed to his 2 and a 1/2 year girlfriend, his ex wife would come back to Chicago. Or show up at his house.

Matthew Casey jumped into his truck at five o'clock. He was getting it warmed up for his fiancé. He watched as she walked out the doors with her bag. She saw him and her smile lit up.

They drive toward the station. Turning off the car, Matt jumps out of the car and opens the door for Sylvie who smiled happily at him.

"What a gentleman!" She said and he chuckled.

"Okay Matt get it out of your system." She said and looked at him as he leaned closer and started kissing her. The kiss was passionate, her soft lips against his chapped ones. He smiled and stopped only to put his forehead against hers. He was ready for this shift.

What he didn't know is that Gabby and her brother Antonio were a ways away behind them. Gabby was trying to find out who Matt was kissing. Did she still love him? Of course. But she was glad he had gotten a girl and gotten over her. She smiled until she saw him and grabbed both of their bags. She frowned when she saw her best friend get out of the front seat. They were laughing at something as they made their way into the station.

"Is that Sylvie?" Gabby nodded sadly. She knew eventually Matt would move in but she didn't know it was to her ex partner and old best friend. She watched as the two conjoined hands and happily talked as they walked into the station for their shift.

"You sure you wanna be here?" Antonio asked his sister. He didn't want to see the way Sylvie looked at Matt, the look he was once looked at with. But if his sister wanted to see her old firehouse family then they would.

"Yeah. I'm glad he's moved on but it's weird seeing the two of them together." He nodded and they made their way into the station. Gabby walked in with her brother and right away saw Herman and Mouch on the couch. Both already in their uniforms. Herman made eye contact with Gabby and jumped up to hug her.

"It's so nice to see you!" Mouch said from the couch. Gabby smiled and leaned down to hug him.

Ritter, Gallo and Violet all walked into the common room. Ritter and Violet were laughing at something Gallo had said. They all stopped when they sat the new people.

"Herman did we get new firefighters?" Violet asked the question the three youngers wanted to.

"No actually this is one of our old paramedics-"

"Gabby?" They all looked up and saw Sylvie and Stella who had just walked in.

"Sylvie, Stella. Hi!" Gabby said

"Uh Violet, Gallo, Ritter she's my old PIC."

"Ohhhhh. That PIC. Okay. Nice to meet you I'm Violet, the other paramedic." She put her hand out for a shake and Gabby shook her hand. Ritter and Gallo nodded and smiled at her.

"So uh why are you here?" Sylvie said. Stella was holding her hand. The girl was so anxious she was shaking but no one except Stella could see it.

"We wanted to visit Chicago for a bit. Relief work has been awesome but we had some business here so we both came." Sylvie nodded. The group of people just stood there looking at eachother. They heard voices and saw the chief and captain of their station. Chief Matthew Casey stood tall as he walked in with his uniform on, next to him stood Captain Kelly Severide. When they got to the stop in the common room they finally noticed all the people as well as Matt's ex wife and ex brother in law.

"Gabby, Antonio." Severide said and went over to Stella and wrapped his arm around her waist. He looked at his best friend and noticed her shaking.

"Gabby always nice to see you. Antonio." He said, greeting both of them with a forced smile.

"Everyone back to work." Kelly barked at the gaping group. They all scattered. Stella moved Sylvie behind her and Kelly so that Matt could get to her.

"You as well Matt." Antonio said his name with a hint of disgust.

"If you'll excuse me." He nodded at them and then turned toward Sylvie. She looked pale compared to Kelly who she was currently behind. He grabbed her hand and walked her to the bunk room, toward his office.

"You okay baby?" She gave him a forced smile.

"Don't force that beautiful smile of yours. I'm not leaving you. I love you. She's here for a friendly visit. Nothings gonna happen to us." She nodded as he weaved them into his office. He sat down in his office chair and pulled her to sit on his lap. He smiled and kissed her softly. She smiled, her anxiousness was okay but god it took a lot out of her. She smiled and closed her eyes as she cuddled closer to her amazing fiancés chest.

This was her life. This was the life she loved.

"Matt... I have something to tell you." She whispered, her head was still on his chest. He grabbed her face and moved it toward his so he could see her face.

"Whatever it is I'm not gonna leave. Okay. I love you." She nodded and pressed a soft kiss on his lips.

"Baby I'm pregnant." He looked at Sylvie and smiled widely. The man had always wanted a family.

"You're pregnant? Omg I'm gonna be a dad. Sylv how did..when.. omg." She smiled and took his face in her hands.

"I love you."

"I love you so much Sylv." He smiled and kissed his fiancé

"We're gonna be parents."

"Yeah. We are." Matt smiled his bright teeth and picked her up in the small room and spun her around. He kissed her lips sweetly before letting her go.
