Evan Buckley + Eddie Diaz

Harder and Harder

There was nothing Buck could do to get back to where he was. His family hated him. His friends didn't like him. He lost all and any connection to anyone. Nothing had been going right for Buck.

After the grocery store, he'd gone home and cried. He didn't need to cry. He wasn't the one affected the most. He wasn't the one who was stopped from even calling him. It wasn't him affected.

But it was. He was the one in pain. He was 110% but still hurt from time to time. Like now, he couldn't even move from the ground where he had fallen down when he'd gotten home four hours ago. He didn't dare call someone. He couldn't. He didn't want to bother anyone. And he didn't want to admit to Bobby that he was right.

Maddie was with Chim, and he was ignoring him. Bobby was ignoring him. Eddie was ignoring him. He could call Hen or Athena but they would tell Bobby.

He started whimpering, his leg propped up on his other leg. His head against the wall behind him. He wished he could just lay in bed. His leg was burning, the pain was starting to get too hard to deal with. He was seeing white from it. He cried out, hoping just hoping someone would come find him.

After awhile he got the strength to grab his phone. He needed to call someone to help him. So he dialed Hens phone number.

"Buck? What do you need?" She sounded reserved, he didn't want to bother her. But she was one of the only ones who wasn't totally annoyed with him.

"Nevermind." His voice cracks, but you could hear the pain. Hens eyebrows furrowed from across the phone.

"Hold up. Buck why are you calling me? Why not Eddie?" He tried not to but it came out, the whimpering woke something and Hen scrambled to get to her car. She knew something was wrong.

"Buck, buddy I'm on my way." He nodded even though she couldn't see him. After 20 minutes he heard a knock and saw Hens feet before her face.

She stared at the man she knew to be strong and outgoing. He sat there in tears, his skin a sickly pale color. She kneeled next to him. He looked so tired.

"Buck, how long have you been in this position?" He looked up at her, his tears spilling down his cheeks.

"5 hours." His once kind voice was a cracked moan. His voice threatened a sob every time he spoke.

"Why didn't you call anyone?"

"You guys hate me." Hens head snapped up to Bucks eyes. His red rimmed eyes, swollen, tired.

"I know you don't me to bug him but I'm calling Eddie." Buck tried to stop her but she held her ground. He sighed and whimpered in pain. His voice strained from crying. He heard Hens voice and a bit of yelling. But he couldn't concentrate on the voices. The pain was too much. He was gonna pass out soon.

Hen came back to find Buck half asleep. She looked at her friend. He was in so much pain, and she couldn't believe they wouldn't even talk to him. She did this too, but she was making up for it. She grabbed under his arm pits and lifted him to the couch. He grunted and moaned from the pain of moving his leg.
