Your not him

Lucy sat in her living room. She brought her tea to her lips and sipped it. It had been a whole year since Tim and her had started dating, she really liked him but she didn't want to happen last time this time. She liked Tim, he was sweet, handsome, and amazing. But Jake started out that way too.

She looked around at the food she was heating up for Tamara and herself. After eating she left a plate out for Tamara before going to her room and falling asleep for the night.

She woke up at 5 am and got into her work uniform and went to the precinct. She grabbed her keys and her bag before looking up to see Tim.

She smiled at him and he smiled at her. He grabbed her hand for a splint second just to touch before letting go and walking into the doors and getting to their desks. They hurried to the briefing room before Sergeant Gray got on there butts about being late. 

They sat in their respective seats. Tim next to Nyla and Angela, and Lucy next to John and Aaron. Lucy wasn't thinking about police duty until she heard Gray say her name.

"Chen your with Tim today. I want metro on this right away." Tim nodded but stopped when he saw Lucy's expression.

Was she worried about the ride with him? I mean Gray knew so, he was doing on purpose. He knew about them. Tim furrowed his eyebrows.

He'd thought she would love to be with him for the day. Especially now that they were dating.

It wasn't like she wasn't happy to ride with him. She was just confused and always really scared that the Tim she knew would turn into Jake. She didn't want that. So she decided to do everything right today so that she didn't get hurt.

She walked up to Tim and gave him a small smile before going to get their bag and weapons.

Tim was confused but understood she was just trying to help. He sighed and went to grab coffee before walking to their shop and getting in.

It had been slowly getting worse. Her mind was making up things. It was making her think she did thinks wrong. Just like he used to do.

She sighed and turned to watch Tim who was watching the streets.

"Lucy, talk to me. I know somethings wrong." She looked up at her boyfriend who was already looking at her.

"Fine. But keep your eyes on the road." He nodded and looked at the road waiting for her to talk.

"I'm just worried. I don't want this-us to end up like my last relationship." He furrowed his brows and quickly looked at her.

"What do you mean Luce?"

"Abusive. I don't want this to end up abusive." He stopped, literally, pressing on the breaks as heard as he could whip the patrolled the neighborhood.

"What-Tim you can't just stop in the middle of the street!?!"

"I can and I did." His anger was getting the better of him but he didn't want to scare her.

"I would never hurt you. Never. You hear me? I understand completely the abuse. I mean I have the same fear of turning out like my dad and hitting my kids. But I'm better then him, and you keep me grounded. You keep my heart beating." She smiled at him, her eyes leaked with tears.

"I didn't want to do this here, but I don't think I can stop myself." He turned and grabbed something out his pocket.

"Lucy Chen would make me the happiest man alive and marry me." Her tears kept falling.

"I-yes, oh my god yes!" She smiled and kept across the car to him and hugged him.

And yea they were making out in the middle of the street. People were watching at this point. It was awkward. After looking around at the people they started driving again.

"I love you so much Tim." She said as she admired the ring. It was a diamond in the center with two tiny emeralds lining the sides.

"We're gonna have to tell Lopez and Harper. They had a whole plan." He said as he chuckled. She smiled.

"Yeah and probably Nolan. He's kinda oblivious." He laughed again and moved his hand to hold hers.

"Yeah. We should just announce it to the entire station." He said and looked at her. She didn't have a problem with this at all.

"Yeah!" She smiled at him while he held her thigh.

"Tim, I've realized now that you'll never be him and I love you so much." He smiled and held her hand all the way to the precinct.

I'm sorry this took so long. Lol it's done though. Really short though because I have no ideas anymore!
