waking up to the sound of shuffling beside me, i opened my eyes. squinting to the brightness of the sun that shone through my curtains, i quickly covered my face and looked over at tommy, who slept soundly beside me. his lips were slightly parted and light snores were coming from his mouth. laughing to myself, i reached for my phone, taking a photo of the sleeping boy.
my head hurt, only slightly. i turned away from him and lay on my side, scrolling through tiktok and twitter for a while until i heard him wake up. he yawned and stretched, almost like a starfish, causing me to nearly fall off my bed from his leg pushing me.
"tommy." i scolded, my voice raspy.
"sorry!" he apologised, pulling me back up.
i hummed in response, looking up at him. his messy hair lay across his forehead and he just stared up at my ceiling quietly. we sat in a comfortable silence, the both of us being hungover and tired. yawning, i got up and went into my bathroom that was connected to my bedroom, shutting the door behind me. i sat on the toilet, putting my head in my hands whilst i did my buisness, trying to rejog my memory from the night before.
i got up off the toilet, putting the toilet seat down and turning to my mirror. grimacing at my messy state, i quickly brushed my teeth as well as my hair. mentally, i was mad at myself for even letting tommy see me in the awful state i was in.
i left the bathroom, shutting the door behind me, going and lying back in bed. looking up to him, i spoke. "there's an unopened toothbrush in the first drawer under the sink, and if you need anything else let me know."
"thanks, everton."
"do you want food?" i asked, checking the time on my phone. "we've just missed mcdonald's breakfast, but we have a shit ton of cereal in."
"hmm," he stopped in thought, "cornflakes?"
"alright i'll make you some cornflakes, big man. come down when you've done."
he went into the bathroom and i went downstairs into my kitchen, pulling two bowls out. after downing a glass of water, i made us both a bowl of cornflakes and a cup of tea. sitting at the island, i ate my cereal whilst watching tiktoks, tommy soon joining me, sitting next to me.
"you make a solid bowl of cereal." he complimented jokingly, causing me to laugh.
"do i now, simons?"
"you do indeed, barrow."
