Forewarning: Descriptions of a crime scene (Blood, death, etc.)

"How was it?" Seungmin asked the one hunched over his desk, tossing his jacket down on his own swiveling chair as he took in the slight.

Minho's head popped up from it's dangle, hanging between the two hands barely strong enough to prop himself up; Red eyes hiding behind the hand of his midnight hair glancing around the empty space of the early morning police department, shifting with an obliviousness down to the laptop and paperwork on his desk. Spaced out. An obvious void sitting in blockade between the vampire's optical information and what few thoughts were developing behind his, no doubt, throbbing headache. Seungmin had seen him in this exact state enough times to understand what the slight daze relaxing in his features meant. Minho groaned lightly, rubbing his hands miserably on his face before he turned his gaze back up to the human settling in to his space, "How was what?"

Seungmin sent the vampire's oblivious gaze a fast scoff. The hungover vampire's oblivious gaze a fast scoff. Of course, diligent and respected Detective Sergeant Minho, his ever serious nature, the truth of his blank expression existing in the slight stench of ethanol leaching his body dry. And, obviously, Seungmin found the contradictory images to be exceedingly entertaining; Knowing the admired policeman liked to edge the border of drunk with the nurse he desperately crushed on since they were in the teenage years. Not that he decided to all that often. Still, Seungmin judged him in all he was as he tried to keep his head from completely being stabbed open. And from the few hangovers Seungmin himself experienced, he could guess the other was griping with gripping demons.

Seungmin snuck a water bottle and a container of painkillers over, setting them both atop the sergeant's desk as he promptly answered, "Jeongin."

"Felix told you?" Minho smiled softly, his shaky hands sweeping up the offered drink and snapping it open.

"As if I didn't already know," The human countered. No, he didn't already know. He may have guessed, as soon as he arrived home to Felix and the occupying absence of Minho in the guest bedroom, or when Minho came stumbling home at some odd hour in the morning and passed out on the couch, the scene of Felix interrogating and ripping the details from him as if they were rooted teeth greeting Seungmin as soon as he woke up to the boisterous talking. But Felix told him before he could make any of those assumptions. Still, he shook it off, his arms folding to protect himself as he leaned on Minho's desk and pretended to be curious, "So, how was it?"

Small talk.

Seungmin reminded himself as he watched the other gulp down the water.

Keep him at an arm's distance.

"He's so pretty, it hurts, Seung," The vampire spoke around the lip of the water bottle, slugging down more of that refreshing liquid he was offered before slamming it back down. He quickly popped a pain killer, swallowing it dry, the unusual action causing Seungmin to cringe. Though he didn't notice, seeing as how his head slowly sunk down to the desk, his high-pitched voice continuing to whine, "Cute nose, cute cheekbones, it's not fair. It's not fair!"

Not knowing how else to respond to his raving, Seungmin nodded and turned his eyes away.

How do people, normally react to their friend's romantic crisis's?

Not to mention, Seungmin didn't even consider Minho as a friend to start with. They lived together because the rent is expensive on their own, not because Seungmin was afraid of the dark or of being alone. They worked together because they aligned in similar interests for detective work and criminal investigation, not because Minho convinced him to join the police force. The vampire, most likely, didn't consider Seungmin a friend either. Not truly, anyway. Not beyond the deceptive feign of his mischievous smile. Not beyond the incessant hovering he kept fluttering about the human. If anything, Minho probably considered him an annoyance. A burden, constantly feeling as if he needed to keep the human in his peripheral vision, despite Seungmin not needing the supervision.
