Jisung sneezed.

The other three in the hotel room snapped their gazes to the human as he wiped his running nose off on the warm blanket wrapped tightly around his shoulders. His sweater and jeans still drying off against the room's heater as he was bundled up under Seungmin's windbreaker and Hyunjin's leather coat beneath the layer of the comforter he snuggled close into. Still shuddering beneath the blanket, shivering in vicious spells that caused him to curl deeper into the wrapped heat, tinted lips trembling despite the warm temperature they set the room to. Hyunjin busying himself with flipping the human's sweater over so it could properly dry, while Seungmin lounged on the floor near to the mattress. Body long having given up on keeping himself afloat on unsteady legs.

Minho glanced up from his lit phone, reluctantly peeling his eyes off the text he was sending Felix in their group chat with him; Announcing to the other vampire him and Seungmin wouldn't be home that night, stating that their police work had them busy elsewhere in the city, somewhere they had to catch a room to stay nearby for. While Jisung had been struggling with drying himself and his drenched clothes off from the sticky salt water, the vampire opted to simply discarding his shirt somewhere and wearing his clean bomber jacket to continue warming him from the freeze of the ocean. He pulled the lapels of the bomber jacket back over his bare chest, and went back to his phone with a scoff of, "Loser."

"Bastard, I'll kill you," Jisung seethed back to him, lips barring against his teeth as he argued with him.

The vampire hit back, "That's a threat. You can go to jail for that, chicken brain."

"It's not like it matters, I'm going at some point anyway," He murmured back the final jeer. Hands bundling at he pulled the blanket tighter around his body, dragging it into him, wrapped up like he was the center stuffing of a tortilla, as if he was a caterpillar tangled inside a fuzzy cocoon he would never have to break away from. As if that foul being of a cannibalistic caterpillar would be surrounded by the comforting threads, eased into a change, and emerge as a butterfly of a better person. Not as if that would ever happen, Jisung made that clear as he shifted again on his heels and looked over to Hyunjin wandering around the room with a notion of, "I'm hungry."

"We didn't bring any snacks with us," Hyunjin smiled weakly back to him. Close to bumping into Seungmin and tripping over his ankles as he shuffled closer to Jisung, a hand finding the human's hair to gently brush it back. Patting the top of his strands as if the vampire was talking to a child. Trying to soothe a young child, small in the blanket dwarfing the body underneath, terrified with a growling hunger, visibly shivering with the cold no doubt lingering in his muscles.

As he watched the brief interaction, something in Seungmin's chest... Tightened?

Hurt?

Panging, constricting down as he forced himself to turn his eyes to the floor. Arms coming to lace over the sudden pinch in his heart while the other two continued to talk.

"I know, but I'm hungry."

He watched their shadows against the strange patterns of the cheap commercial carpeting.

Subconsciously, leaning away from Hyunjin and Jisung as he watched their silhouettes casted against the wall; How they seemed so affectionate toward one another despite being woven from Leviathan scales and Hydra heads, demons crafted from carefully plucked threads from the webs of nightmares, sewn into two people who may have once been ordinary. How his gaze lingered on the shadow of the vampire, the outstretched hand connecting to the other's shaded figure, every move it made pinching a deeper note in his numbed chest.

"I'll take a look around and see if I can find something for you, yeah?"

How could he be so affectionate toward someone so vile? Someone so... Twisted? How could either of them receive the other with a fondness as they did?
