Forewarning: Descriptions of a crime scene again! Yay!
"There's another development on the mimic case."
Seungmin and Minho exchanged a look. The vampire dropped his head in an irritated sigh, a soft slur underneath his breath as he collected his bomber jacket from the back of his office chair and chased after the officer.
Following the uniform and badge from the parking lot, chasing them in their car down those city streets to the address they were given, leading them from freeway to side street to freeway as Seungmin followed the navigator with a firm grip on the steering wheel and Minho looked over the brief report passed onto them moments prior to their hasten escape. Being led to a far end of the portside buildings, far from the marina, the nightclub, the station, Felix's home, closer to the art academy, the old port warehouses, and the industrial complex the impromptu investigators promised they would look after their own time caring for their separate duties. A time which, now may have stretched too far and snapped apart like a rubber band to this climax as the Mimic stirred in that once sleepy again. As another face met their eyes on the report, another victim identified as a life claimed by that creature.
They parked on the streets of a residential neighborhood, beside the flashing lights of navy blue and scarlet blinded any onlookers trying to take a peek at the commotion. Domestic houses stacked next to one another. Friendly, family oriented no-doubt, judging by the little vampire Seungmin, a child no higher than his hip that looked up to him with a wide mouth and tiny fangs in amazement before the parent dashed out to grab the little girl in an apologetic hurry. Fast bows that he promptly responded to with a casual dismissal, ensuring he waved a small goodbye to the child before Minho and him pressed out of the streets. Following the clattering investigators swarming the house blocked off with watching patrol officers, and obnoxiously bright tape sealing off the yard as well as the house beyond that threshold.
Seungmin shook the nerves off, collecting what gear he needed to not leave traces of himself behind before entering into the home. Barricading his mind against whatever horrors he may have to see as soon as he caught sight of the busted doorknob and the foul stench slamming into his face as soon as he walked past the front doorframe. Ensuring he didn't accidentally bump into one of the many investigators or photographers scoping out the scene for potential bits of evidence in the foyer only to come up with none. He sent a fast glance back to Minho, stopped by one of the other investigators as they engaged in whatever chatter was needed to be fluently passed on to the detective sergeant. Making sure the vampire saw him as he pressed farther inside.
The living room of the house seemed fairly normal. A typical scene of a single vampire living by their lonesome. Some furniture here and there, picture frames of family members enjoying their lives, a bowl of cooked ramen now gone cold and uneaten on the end table by a phone being collected by investigators for evidence, nothing particularly interesting. Nothing quite as engaging as the open door his coworkers were passing through, in and out at their own paces while a few of them talked. Seungmin left the living space behind and went to investigate the commotion in the hot spot.
Which, is also where he tripped over the white sheet he didn't see and nearly face planted into the desk on the other end of the room. If not for the officer which grabbed his arm to catch him in his whispered gratitude and mild embarrassment as he tried to brush the burning in his face off. He ignored it, and carried on the best he was able to.
This painted pastel and neatly cleaned room, judging by the unmade mattress shoved off to the corner, the opened closet filled with a variety of clothes enough to dress a small army hung over a filled laundry basket nearly overflowing with the backlog of items, the desk with the unplugged laptop sitting atop a computer mat with a no doubt completely drained battery by the way the other investigators were attempting to press it on to no avail, and the scattered posters of popular bands hung up around the walls of the room, this must have been the victim's bedroom. Evidently. Obviously. That fact becoming more obvious as he shifted back to the white sheet he tripped over by the doorway, the foreboding outline of something which laid beneath causing him to apologize heavily to the ankle his foot snagged on the way in.
