GOLIATH
House Gemini resembled a more muted version of House Dae. It was bright and warm, but it lacked the effervescence of Adalind's house. Sleep was easy still. The temperature was warm, maybe a bit too warm.
My hand falls from over my eyes in frustration. The fire that had been burning bright has simmered to a dull, light orange. I sit up. The sun doesn't look to be coming up soon. Pushing myself from my spot, I venture away from the camp.
I needed to clear my head. I needed to figure out some way to sleep. Coming to a small pond, I crouch down and cleanse my hands. The coldness of it soothes the heat under my skin. It was so incredibly hot here.
"Can't take the heat?"
I don't have to turn around to know it's Adalind. She comes near me and crouches next to me. She smells divine. She looks like the perfect dessert for me.
Locking eyes with her, I see a red hue flare and then dim. "Your eyes are golden," I say blatantly.
"Yes," she whispers, nearing me. "They are."
"The red," I whisper. I am caught in her trance. "How do they have red in them?"
She doesn't answer as she leans forward. Her lips meet mine gently. She tastes...sour...like...
Now, she's crawling into my lap. My hands travel down her sides and settle on her ass which is deliciously full. Her hands tangle themselves in my hair. I grind her against me and I almost groan from the friction of her against me. She pushes me on my back and the moonlight falls on her golden hair as it cascades around her face. She's a glorious sun.
She looks at me with nothing but desire, her hands palming my chest as she rolls her hips against me. Her eyes flicker from yellow to red again. Her hands go to the button of my pants and she moves down my legs in an attempt to pull them down. I'm hard. Fucking outrageously hard. And she's willing. She's so willing.
A burst of light flies from the depths of darkness, hitting Adalind. She is lifted off me and for a brief moment, I think about defending her. I leap to my feet to look at whoever had thrown her off me only to be met with even brighter golden, worry-filled eyes.
Adalind locks eyes with me. Her brows knit before her gaze falls to the figure behind me and when I turn around, the figure that had been on top of me is nothing as it looked like before. It was lengthy with pale, translucent skin. Its eyes were blood-red and hissed brighter as it screeched at us.
It jutted forward at an alarming speed. It was almost quick enough to escape my hand which grasped its neck and broke it easily. We watched as the life swiftly left its body.
"What the fuck was that?
"A Wyern," Adalind says, her voice almost lacking any emotion at all. "They make you see what you're most attracted to and lore you into bed before killing you. They're attracted to power," she adds on.
"Then why did it not choose to prey on you or Xerxes?"
Her eyes fall to the body again as she shakes her head. "I don't know." Bright eyes brighten in curiosity. "Who did you see?"
Rolling my eyes, I walk to the pond and wash my hands of the blood.

House Aquarius is colder than House Dae. It's also darker. A pervasive twilight coats the long, thorny trees. The cold is welcomed after traveling through heat. The sun starts to set over the mountains by the time we reach the forest's edge. Even from the outside, we can hear the god-awful, powerful whirling inside. The branches of the trees sway harshly, falling at times in front of us.
