The 3 Swords

Chapter 14 Caris's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night because of a nightmare; the nightmare was about Sabrina being normal and forgot about Bubbles! I decided to take a walk in our little area outside of our hut house, thing. The grass was wet with dew and the stars were shining brightly like the moon and the sound of crickets chirping in the distance. It was all so perfect until I heard right behind me "BOO!" I jumped and spun around hitting somewhere on my opponent, it sucked in a breath then I did a roundhouse kick across its face and it fell to the ground.

 I felt so powerful until I realized that the figure was Sam "Caris it's just me, Sam." "Sam oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" I bent down to see him in a ball breathing in and out while his nose was bleeding, I felt stupid, I hurt the guy I liked. I ripped a bottom piece of my shirt and tilted his head up so I could see his face, I held up the cloth to his nose, okay I know how to set bones I've done it before, I said to myself. "Okay Sam this might hurt a little." I helped him sit up and held his nose gently, he was still hurting down where I hit him you could see it in his face, I set his nose quickly it wasn't bent very badly but tomorrow was his and my first day of class. After he caught his breath and his nose stopped gushing I started to apologize for doing that but he held up a hand. "Its ok I'm fine now." he said, as he got up he bent down and coughed "Okay I'll stay." I smiled and looked up at the sky to see if I could see the big dipper Juliet's favorite constellation. I felt him looking at me and I hate when people staring at me it always makes me feel validated even if the person staring at me are one of my sisters.

I shivered as the night grew colder and realized that I was wearing a tank top and shorts Sam sat up and put his jacket over me but in his eyes he wanted to put his arms around me so I leaned up against him and put my head on his shoulder. "It’s such a clear night." I whispered "Yeah, pretty to." I nodded my head and sat up a little and looked at him. He was so perfect and found myself starting to lean forward while he did to, then I realized what I was doing and stood up and cleared my throat. Sam stood up to with his face sort of red. "Umm night." I said as I turned away, Sam grabbed my shoulder and pulled me into a hug I felt so safe... I guess maybe happy or well anyway I looked up at him and before I knew it he kissed me, I never wanted to leave that and neither did he so we just stood there kissing then I remembered something, it was important to life, it was BREATH! So I gently pulled back and took in a breath and laid down with Sam, I looked at him again and he was looking at me and somehow I ended up on his chest drifting off into my land.

That morning I found myself in my bed with the memories of last night I smiled to myself no one was up yet so I got in fifteen minutes of early practice then ran to our hut house where Andr'e was at the door he explained that he really wanted to wake Juliet up, I gave him an approving smile and let him go in they were out in a second ahh young love. Sabrina came into the room looking like a homeless person "Really Sabrina." "Yes Caris." I sighed then the intercom lady came on and all I could her was Sabrina's name and the number five and Sabrina started to laugh.

After Sabrina was gone I got some breakfast and wondered what class I had, the officials know us and I’m pretty sure they stalk us with their cameras. Sam came in "Ready for class?" Sam asked in bright cheerful mood I smiled "As ready as I'll ever be."

You know I've been with Sam for about forty-eight hours and we've already kissed, I don't get how but I'll just leave that question, for now. Once we got to the building it was just a roof with beams supporting the roofs weight, under it there was desks set and little pillows on the paved ground. "Now we are early, I just wanted us to make a good impression on the teacher." I nodded. We walked up to the teacher "Umm hello," I said shyly, he looked up at us "we're-" "Sam Miner and Caris umm," he looked down but saw nothing I looked at it and how it plainly said "Caris" on the sheet. I smiled, you see I was a stubborn little four years old and would only tell them that my name was Caris and Sabrina, Juliet, and I were triplets.

"Well let’s not worry about that I am your war strategy teacher, Mr. Evergreen," (I was laughing on the inside, why do all of these people have funny names) "and then you will put your plans into action on a course that will always change." Me and Sam looked at each other then took our seats.

When everyone was in the room we all talked strategy and made plans, it was fun well, as fun as a class can get. After we free talked for a few minuets he gave us a piece of paper and showed us a battle ground for thirty seconds and we had to draw a plan with two sets of ten people on both sides. There was complete silence but i was in the zone, my plan consisted of splitting up the two groups of ten to groups of five and used on group as a distraction by shooting at them and then the others attack from behind. I checked over my work and relaxed a little and looked over at Sam who just finished. I smiled at him he smiled back and I felt better somehow. Mr. Evergreen came to look at Sam's and his eyes widened "Wow I have never seen a new student like you come up with this."  Then he walked over to my desk "Wow so simple but so brilliant!" I smiled, I loved having potential.
