Chapter 3

We lay there, both of us breathing a bit hard from the kiss staring into one another's eyes. He looked gorgeous as the sun glinted off his dark hair. We were only a centimeter from our lips meeting when I heard someone clear their throat.

I looked up to find Nicholas and the other girl both staring at us. When I realized they had been watching us red hot heat filled my cheeks and neck.

Vhynn however, didn't seem to mind one bit and hugged me closer letting me hide my face in the crevice of his neck.

I looked up to find the girl and Nick walking toward us, hand in hand.

"so, I wasn't gonna tell you until later, but this is my Uhm..." his cheeks flushed bright red.

"I'm his girlfriend" she said, her voice like silk. She grasped his arm and hugged him close to her. She smiled brightly at us, but for some reason I felt a type of tension from her towards me.

"So your Nick's girlfr-" Vhynn began as he turned to face them, but before he could finish his sentence he lost his words and grasped my hands tightly.

"A-April?!" his face was bewildered as he took a step towards them.

Me and Nick looked at one another, confused by his shock.

"April? You know Vhynn." he asked her as I watched the two of them react. For a moment I could have sworn I saw fear and recognition flash through her eyes.

"n-no I don't" she answered slowly as she shook her head vigorously.

However that didn't stop Vhynn, when Vhynn is sure of something, he's sure of it. So he just kept pressing about it.

"No, April you remember me don't you?" he tried to take another step towards her but she backed away scared and whimpered softly into Nick's back.

"Vhynn, that's more than enough. You're frightening her." Nick said protectively, patting her head trying to comfort her.

"I think it's time we go home, Vhynn" I tried to pull him along, it wasn't until Nick and April went inside that he finally budged.

He walked me home, but that whole time he remained distant. "Vhynn?" I said softly, hoping he would wake up out of his trance.

"Huh?"

"were home already, honey?" I shook him trying to catch his attention; He blinked his eyes as if trying to clear his head.

"Oh, right. Sorry. Uhm.... I'll see you later?" he walked into his house, without even stopping to say I love you or to check on me.

I debated between just going inside or following him.

Deciding against my instincts I went inside to make myself some food, while I was in the fridge about to make some fried rice, I remembered how much Vhynn loved it, the last time I made it. I began to let my instincts kick in and plot.

I quickly made a double recipe of Chinese Fried Rice and walked into his house, using the key he gave me yesterday as our Month-aversary present. I wanted to surprise him with something but instead found his side of the houses completely empty.

I tried calling his name until my voice was hoarse "Vhyyyyyyynnnnnnnnnnn-" I began to realize he might not be in the house.

I ran outside desperate to find him.

Right as I ran out the door I hit my head on something hard.

I look up to find a pretty girl looking down on me. She was about 5 inches taller than me while her hair was dark like her eyes; the two were a stark surprise on her caramel colored skin, matching all of ours. A common for Asians.
