Tsubaki And Vhynn's Story

Chapter 8

We sat there waiting, for what seemed like days. Eventually me and Star fell asleep though mine didn't last long as Star's became fit full. She began to moan in her sleep, I began to just stare, in the border line of awake and sleep. I jerked as wheels scratched on the hospital tiles floors, Star fluttered into existence as she too heard the noise.

She began to fall apart all over again as a wheel chair came into view, on it was a guy with chocolate brown hair, his shirt was ripped clear off to expose a fresh scar.

Star's face turned bright red and had an unmistakable mask if horror. She began to shake like leaf as they came closer, for us to find he was unconscious.

As the doctors neared they spoke to one another in hushed tones "Most of the blood wasn't his" Star looked at me with a haunted look in her eyes.

"He was extremely lucky, the bullet just barely missed his heart." a gasp escaped her lips as they wheeled him into the room.

A doctor stopped us before allowing us in "only Family and close friends are allowed in. Are you either?" Star looked down "I'm his-" I cut her off knowing they wouldn't let us in any other way. "she's his girlfriend" Star looked up at me her gave slowly turning red.

The doctor waved us is, the nurse looked down at Angel who was just coming into Consciousness.

"Your girlfriends here to see you Angel" she patted his arm and walked past us. "We'll be outside, let us know if anything happens" and she was gone.

"Girlfriend, huh?" he said his voice deep, I could tell by the way she smiled seeing him alive, that she was in love.

"You know, if you wanted to be my girlfriend that bad, all you had to do was ask" he laughed then grabbed his side in pain.

"Uhm.... Angel" Star said, her face flushed a bright red as she kept her eyes down.

"Put on a shirt or something" she looked up a little and looked at his bared chest.

I felt Awkward just watching them exchange their greetings yet enjoyed seeing this shy side of Star.

"Why do you wanna hide my sexiness?" asked Angel teasingly as he pulled the blanket up over the scar still exposing some of his chest.

"Here" she handed him a white beanie,

"you left it at my place when you stayed over that night" she said looking down; I made a mental note to ask her what he was doing staying at her house overnight.

"can you put it on for me" he said looking down at his weak arms, "sure" she said her face turning red as she leaned over and placed the hat on his head then pulled it snug "now you look like Angel again" she smiled at him though he had a mischievous smile on his face.

"And I got a great view of your boobs" he said teasingly as Star socked him gently in the shoulder.

I coughed feeling as though I was unwanted. "I'll be leaving. Behave lovebirds!!!! No Hanky-Panky" I said as I rushed out of the room before Star could get a word out.

I stopped in front of room F32, 18 to find Vhynn waiting for me.

"How's April doing?" feeling bad for not being there for her earlier.

Before he answered me he took me in his arms, his lips took mine hostage as my knees began to weaken. He put a hand on the small of my back, supporting me as his tongue slowly found its way into my mouth.

"V-Vhynn, Mmmmmm" I gasped, finding it hard to breath.

"I missed you Tsu" he said burying his face in my hair as we leaned against a wall in each other's embrace.

I felt happy knowing that he missed me as much as I missed him, but then reality slapped me across the cheek.

"April, how's April doing?" I asked, now remembering why I was here.

"She's doing better" he said tangling his hands up in my hair. "She's stabilized, and her heart is strong now. But her fever is still high, it's gone down to 104 now" he sighed, and nuzzled my nose.

"She's gonna be fine Vhynn" I said, trying to calm both mine and his rising anxiety.

"And Nick?" I asked feeling bad about leaving the explanation up to Vhynn.

"He's in there now waiting for her to wake up. Apparently they haven't talked since she broke up with him.

"Tsu" he said taking my face into his hands "He's in love with her, after you two..." his fist clenched and I took his hand, soothing him "after he KISSED you, he realized it meant nothing to him. April is the only girl for him" he smiled a little, and a saw sadness in his eyes, "I just found my little sister and I already have to give her up to another guy"

I shook my head at him, "you obviously don't realize your sister has changed, she's not a little girl anymore. It's not a matter of him getting her back, it's whether or not she'll take him" I sighed, smiling, remembering the month we spent together. "She's very stubborn; she won't take him if she doesn't want him. Though honestly, I know she does. We just have to wait"

As we entered the room, I was hit by the overwhelming smell of Anesthetics.

Nick was kneeling by April's bed as though waiting for her to wake, not knowing how long it would be.

I looked around realizing the tired looks in everyone eyes.

"Did any of you sleep last night?" looking around the room.

"No, my parents left already though. They said to take care April and to tell her goodbye for them" said Vhynn, wincing at the memory.

"Did you try to stop them?"

"Yeah, but they wouldn't listen. By the time I got back with Nick they were gone"

I sighed, wondering how April would react to all of this, I wonder how she-

Out of the corner of my eye I saw her eyelids move a little.

"You guys, she's waking up" Nick seemed to spring to life.

Her eyes were still glazed as they looked us over.

"V-Vhynn... Tsu? Nick?" her beat faster over the monitor as she said Nick's name.

"oh April" he said as he buried his face in her bed sheet.

"April.... April I'm sorry for what I did, but I realized something. I realized I love you, and only you. April you're the only girl for me, and I won't take anyone but you!" April looked down, speechless.

"What do you say April? Will you take me back, please" his voice cracked at the end.

April's voice was soft as she answered him, but by the way she looked up it struck something in my heart.

"No, no I will not take you back. Too little too late Nick."
