"Shit! Shit!" Dustin yelled. "We're going down! We're going down!" Steve yelled. "Yeah, no shit, Harrington!" Robin yelled back. We were all screaming. Erica and Dustin kept pressing the buttons.
The room stopped falling abruptly. I fell forward, boxes fell off the shelves and landed on me, hitting my head.
I blacked out.

I opened my eyes, I was in a dark void, a thin layer of water on the ground. I walked around, looking for signs of life.
"I helped you, and you left me." A voice whispered into my ear. I jumped, turning around my surroundings changed. "I saved you. You never came back." The voice spoke, this time sounding like two voices again.
I was standing in the lab, it was abandoned. "I don't even know who you are!" I yelled, my voice echoed. "I'm the reason your free, Y/n! I'm the reason you have a life!" I heard the voice yell back from a dark corner. "Bob?" I stuttered. "No, no." The voice chuckled. "He's long gone." The words sent a shiver down my spine
"Then who are you?" I hesitated. "You'll find out soon enough. five." Five?

I woke up to a headache as I laid on the cold metal floor of the room. When my sight focused, I saw Erica and Robin sitting on the floor looking at the tube of green goo. "I feel like I'm dying." I groaned as I got up. "Where's Dustin and Steve?" I asked. Erica pointed up to the roof where a hatch was spent above a table.
"Code red, I repeat, code red. Does anyone copy? This is a code red, I repeat, a code red. This is a code red, I repeat, a code red. Does anyone copy? We are innocent children and we are trapped under Starcourt Mall. The Red Army has infiltrated Hawkins, and if we are found,
they will torture and kill us." I heard Dustin speak. I assumed he was trying to get hold of someone on his walkie."Hey. Gotta take it easy on that thing. Gonna drain the battery." I heard Steve say as I climbed onto the table. "The mall just opened." "So?" "So someone could be in range." "What do you think, Petey the Mall Cop is gonna rappel down here and save the day?" Steve argued.
I grunted as I got onto the roof. "You never know, Petey could save us." I said, stumbling. "Morning sleepy head." Steve teased. I gave him a sarcastic smile. "How are you feeling?" Dustin asked. "Starving, dehydrated." I listed. Dustin gave me a sympathetic look. Dustin looked at me for a second longer before going back down to the room. "Dustin says you didn't want to be involved in this." Steve said. "Yeah, but I can't have my little brother run around trying to save the world by himself, besides someone needs to keep you morons in check." I responded, Steve chuckled. He looked at me, like he wanted to say something. "About that night the k-" Steve got cut off when Dustin called us.
Steve, looked down the hatch, he went down first before he helped me, his hands gripped my waist, guiding me to the table, he lifted me off the table and helped me to the ground.

We didn't have a sense of what time it was, all we knew was that we were tired. Robin leaned up against a wall as Erica slept on her lap. Dustin opted for the cold floor and his backpack as a pillow. I sat on the other side of the room, my head leaning on the wall. Steve sat next to me. "How are you feeling?" He whispered. "Like shit, I should've never helped. I should've kept us out of this." I responded. "And ruin out chances of being American heroes?" He teased, I hit his arm. "Ow." Steve said as he rubbed his arm. "I'm serious, we're kids." I paused as I looked at Steve. "Well most of us." I said as I fiddled with my hands.
"If not us, then who?" Steve defended. "I watched a person die, Steve. I watched Bob get killed by some creature from a different dimension. None of that is normal." I whisper yelled. Steve gave me a sympathetic look, he put an arm around my shoulder and rubbed my back.
