Alarms started to go off. The guards let go of me. "What the hell?" Bob asked as he let go of Mike. "We're too late." I said. "What?" Bob asked. "We're too late!" I said as I ran back to Will's room. "What's going on?" Joyce asked. "We're under attack." Mike said. "We need to make Will sleep." I said as I grabbed a bottle of sleeping drugs and a syringe. "What?" Joyce said. "He's a spy. If he knows where we are, so does the shadow monster!" I said. "He killed those soldiers.
He'll kill us, too!" Mike yelled. "He's lying! He's lying! He's lying!" Will started yelling as he sat up from his bed."Okay, Will, Will, listen, listen. Do you know who I am?" Joyce asked as she held him. He didn't respond. "Do you know who I am?" Joyce yelled. "You're...You're... You're Mom." He said. Joyce knew something was wrong. "Hold him down." She said to Bob who complied. Joyce took the syringe filled with a sleeping drug. "No, let me go!" Will said as he struggled under Bob's grip. "I'm sorry." Joyce said as she stabbed him with the syringe and injected the drug into his system. Will fell unconscious.
Hopper and Doctor Owens bust through the door they took a moment to look around before we heard a bang on the door down the hall. "We gotta go!" Hopper yelled as he picked Will up. Joyce grabbed more of the sleeping drug before we ran out into the hall. We turned the corner but stopped when we saw a monster jump onto a guard. We turned around, another guard was shooting at another monster. I grabbed Mike and covered him.
"In here!" Owens yelled. We ran into the camera room.
We looked at the cameras, the monsters crowded the halls, killing doctors and guards, I covered Mike's eyes. The lights began to flicker.
We all looked at each other as the power went out completely, leaving us in complete darkness.
Hopper found a torch. Owens found a map of the lab. "Look, this is us, and this is the nearest exit." He said as he drew circles on the map. "But even if we somehow make it there, there's no way out." He said. "What do you mean?" I asked "The locks are fail secure." "Fail secure?" Hopper asked. "If there's a power outage, the building goes on lockdown." Owens explained. "Can it be unlocked remotely?" Bob asked. "With a computer, sure, but somebody's gotta reset the breakers." "Where are the breakers?" Hopper asked. "Breakers are in the basement, three floors down." Owens said as he turned the page to the basement floor and circled where the breakers were.
Hopper grabbed the map and began to walk to the door. "Hey, where are you going?" I asked. "To reset the breakers." "Okay, then what?" Bob asked. "Then we get out of here." "No, then the power comes back on. If you wanna unlock the doors, you have to reboot the computer system, and then override the security codes with a manual input." Bob explained. "Fine, how do I do that?" Hopper asked as he turned away from the door. "You can't. Not unless you know BASIC." "I don't know what that means." Hopper said. "It's a computer programming language." Mike and I said. Mike looked at me with a confused face. "What? I listen to you guys when you think I'm not."
"Teach it to me." Hopper told Bob. "Shall I teach you French while I'm at it, Jim? How about a little German?" Bob scoffed. "How about you, Doc? You speak BASIC?" He asked. "No." Owens replied. "Okay, I got this." Bob said. "No. Bob." Joyce said. "It's okay. It's gonna be okay. Remember,
Bob Newby, superhero." Bob reassured her."I'll go with you, be a look out." I said. "No" Hopper said. "He needs a second pair of eyes and you need to stay with Joyce and the kids. And besides I've fought one of these things before." I argued. Hopper sighed. "Fine, I'm trusting you kid." Hopper said.

Hopper, Bob and I made it to the stairwell. We dragged a security guard with us. We were crouched down. "Okay, grab his walkie." Hopper said, Bob nodded and grabbed it while Hopper took the guards gun. "All right, you know how to use one of these?" He asked Bob. "No." "Safety on. Safety off. Point. Squeeze." I said as I took the gun. "I'll take it." I said as I aimed it at a wall. "If anything happens down there, I want you to come right back up." Hopper said. "Okay, well... I'll be in touch." Bob said as we stood up.
"Get them out of here." I said to Hopper before going down the stairs.
I took the lead, holding the gun out. "I'm not so sure about you taking the lead." Bob whispered. "I know, you're the adult, but I have an idea of what we're dealing with." I whispered back.
We got to the basement. We heard a noise, causing me to point the gun in that direction. "Keep it together, Bob." I heard him whisper to himself.
We entered the breaker room. "Okay, Bob, can you hear us?" I heard Dr Owen's voice on the walkie. "Loud and clear, Doc. Can you hear me back?" Bob responded. "We hear you." "All right, give me a minute." Bob said as he put the walkie down and started typing.
I scanned the area, getting ready for any threats. "Open sesame." He said. "What's going on?" Bob asked when no one responded. "We've got some company." Owens said. "Where?" "The west stairwell." "I got an idea." He started typing again. "Okay. And splash." He said. "Okay. Okay, that worked. Now, get out of there."
"Come on!" I said. We walked cautiously up the stairwell back to the first floor. "Hey, Bob?" We heard Owens. "Yeah?" "I'm gonna guide you guys, okay?" "Is there a problem?" I asked into the walkie. "No, it's just... It's, uh, getting a little crowded up here, so we're gonna have to take this slow." "Okay."
"All right, just start walking." He said. We started walking down the hallway. I held the gun closer to my person. "Okay, good.
Okay, now, your next right. Now, keep going, keep going, keep going..." we picked up the pace. "Stop!" Owens said abruptly."There's a door on your left, do you see that?" Owens said in a panic. "Yeah?" "That's a closet. I need you to get in it."
Bob stood still. "Now! Right now. Get in the closet." Owens yelled. I grabbed Bob and pushed him into the closet. I shut the door and held my breath.
We heard the creature sniff the door and growl. Bob shut his eyes as I held myself. When we saw the shadow of the creature leave I opened the door. "How you holding up there, guys? You all right?" Owens asked as I exited the closet and checked our surroundings. "Yeah. Yeah." I heard Bob respond. "You got a pretty clear shot to the front door. You can do this, okay? You're almost home free, all right, guys?" Owens said as Bob took a deep breath and exited the closet.
As Bob came out he knocked over a broom which grabbed the monsters attention. "Run!" I yelled.
