"The gate." I mumbled.

We went back into the comms room after standing and looking at the gate for a moment. "I don't understand. You've seen this before?" Robin asked as we walked down the stairs. "Not exactly." Steve said. "Then what, exactly?" She pushed. "All you need to know is it's bad. It's really bad. Like, end-of-the-human-race-as-we-know-it kind of bad." I said having a mini panic attack.

"And you know about this how?" Robin asked, stopping in the middle of the comms room. "Um, Steve? Where's your Russian friend?" Erica asked. We looked down to where the guard was, he was gone and as if it was planned, on que came the alarms. "Shit." I mumbled. Steve opened the door that led back to the entrance. "Uh, we got company!" He yelled slamming the door. "This way!" I yelled leading the kids up the stairs.

"Halt! Halt!" We heard guards yelling behind us. I made sure Erica was with me, I held her close.

We ran into the room that over looked the scientists. Steve closed the door. "Keep up!" I yelled as I opened the door to where the scientists sat. They all got up in shock, seeing three teenagers in sailor outfits with two kids, one of which had a my little Pony bag on.

We ran down stairs, I heard Dustin scream as he pushed a Russian guard. We ran to the end of the machine that was shooting out the beam. We stood there for a second. I tried to calm my thoughts and figure out what to do, Russian guards were running down the stairs towards us as Dustin yelled profanities.

"This way!" Steve yelled, there was another set of stairs. He pushed a guy off of them as we ran past. I pushed Erica in front of me as I slowed down so I was behind the group. I rammed and knocked a stack of barrels down with my shoulder.  "Go, go, go, go, go!" I yelled as they fell onto guards. Dustin led the group into a room, Steve put all of his weight into holding the door shut.

"Come on! Let's go!" Erica yelled, she was lifting up a vent cover. "Robin! Help me, come on!" Steve yelled. Robin hurried to help him. I looked at them. "Go, you said you didn't want to deal with this, so we will. Go get help." Steve said.

Watched as Erica climbed into the vent. Dustin went in next but came back out. "I won't forget you!" He yelled. I pushed him down like I was playing Wack a Mole. "Don't do anything stupid! And stay together!" I yelled as I climbed down and pulled the cover over the entrance hesitantly.

I heard the guards bust the door open and yell. I felt my heart drop but Dustin encouraged me to keep going.

We came to a stop when a fan was blocking our path. Erica asked us what the gate was for and why it was going to destroy the world so while Dustin tried to switch the fab off, he explained everything. While I laid down of my stomach feeling like shit.

"So, when we set fire to the hub, we drew the Demo-dogs away so El could close the gate. But now, for some insane reason, The Russians appear to be trying to reopen it, which just destroys everything we risked our lives for." Dustin said, unscrewing a case.

"By "we," you're including Lucas?" Erica asked. "Yes, of course." "So, all that shit you told me, Lucas was there?" "Yeah." "My brother, Lucas Charles Sinclair?"

"Yes!" I groaned. "I don't believe you." Erica said. "Wait, so you believe everything about El and the gate and the Demo-dogs and the Mind Flayer, but you question your brother's involvement?" Dustin asked. "That's correct." Erica confirmed. "Makes total sense." Dustin said sarcastically.

"Um, you need help with that?" Erica asked after a moment of silence. "No." Dustin replied. "Well, I mean, it's taking a while, so..." "Yeah, no shit, Sherlock."

"All right, so if we don't find a more efficient method to stop these fans, we're never gonna find help, and your ice cream buddies are screwed." Erica said. "Yeah, with that attitude, they are. Jee-zus!" I said leaning on my elbows. "I'm just being realistic."
