No one's POV–

The Metkayina people used to tell an old myth. They said, if you ever dream about your soulmate before meeting them, death will strike one of you down.

It was a peaceful night, everyone was deep in slumber.

In the chief's house, you could find a little boy sleeping peacefully, but as he traveled to the realm of dreams, an odd feeling in his chest told him he would see something he would not like.

He was in the jungle, he looked up only to meet tall trees and vines. He began to walk, soon he came to a stop after hearing someone from the distance. He saw a girl running, she was about to bump into him. Except that never happened.

He was like a ghost. He ran after the girl, she was really fast but he was somehow able to keep up. She kept looking back in fear, the boy couldn't understand why.

Suddenly, he heard a loud bang, in direction of the girl, he ran faster. He found the girl lying weakly on the ground, blood pouring out her chest. He tried to touch her but wasn't able to.

"Y/N!" He heard someone yell.

The girl cried for help with tears in her eyes, everything started to become a blur to him, he couldn't hear or see anything correctly.

And then, he woke up.

He sat up immediately, fear in his eyes as his breathing was heavy and fast, unable to control it.

His family noticed this and ran to his aid, asking him what the matter was, but he couldn't make up a word.

Once he was able to relax, he told the story slowly to his family, in hope that his parents knew what this dream meant.

His parents looked at each other with a saddened and knowing expression, then they turned to look at him as his mother opened her mouth to speak.

"Your soulmate has died."
