No one's POV-

Ao'nung found himself staring at the seashell that was given to him by Y/N.

This only made his mind wander away even more.

Without him noticing, 2 days already passed after that night. He found himself staring, studying the Omaticayan girl.

He studied her every move, her habits. He learned a lot about her body language.

Whenever she laughed, she covered her mouth. When her mind wandered away, she would caress the fur on her tail without noticing. When she felt nervous, her tail would wrap around one of her legs.

He also noticed her behavior around her siblings. With Neteyam she allowed herself to relax and let her guard down. With Lo'ak she laughed a lot, she would also sometimes take a nap while resting on Lo'ak's shoulder. With Kiri it was mostly silent, but they found comfort in each other. And with Tuk it was like a kid speaking to another kid.

Ao'nung couldn't understand why he sometimes followed Y/N around like a lost puppy, sometimes she noticed him but didn't say anything. Other times he would hide so she didn't see him.

Of course, he wasn't being a creep about it, he followed her around public places, not to her hut.

But still, he couldn't understand his sudden subconscious interest in the girl.

So, he decided to go alone to the Cove of Ancestors.

Not exactly for answers, but to relax in a calm environment. He needed it.

-

He was swimming down, the bioluminescent purple and blue of the underwater spirit tree really allowed him to relax.

He grabbed his queue and gently connected it to the spirit tree, closing his eyes.

Once he opened his eyes, he looked around to recognize his environment.

He was in the jungle.

He started walking forward, he could only hear his own heavy footsteps.

"Hello?" He questioned to the air.

He didn't know how much time passed since he began walking, but shortly after he heard loud bangs nearby.

He covered his ears at the loud noise.

And that's when he looked down and saw someone running past him.

He quickly followed after the figure, soon finding them in the grass.

It was an Omaticayan Na'vi, he could tell by the dark blue skin.

He came closer and saw that it was a little girl, her chest was covered in blood, her blood.

He got closer, studying the little child.

"Y/N!!" he heard.

And his eyes widened.

He looked at the child closely, he took in her features.

His vision then started to get blurry, his hand flew and tried to hold onto the child, but it was already too late.

He opened his eyes and took in his surroundings, he was underwater.

Slightly panicking, he swam up to the surface.

He mounted his ilu once he was back in the surface.

His mind wandered away, remembering the little girl he just saw.

He saw Y/N. She was covered in her own blood with no hopes of living.

And then it hit him.

He remembered his dream, that horrible dream.

10 years ago, he had a dream just like that.

He woke up in cold sweat, screaming for his life.

And he remembered what his parents told him.

That dream was a message.

A message that his soulmate passed away.

He wasn't dumb, he knew it was the same dream.

He realized why her name sounded so familiar. He already heard it before in his dreams.

But he couldn't understand.

That night, his soulmate died.

That's what the dream was all about. Telling him that his soulmate died in a terrible way.

So, why?

Why was she in his village, better than ever?

Smiling, laughing.

Sharing moments with him.

She died, that's what Eywa told him through his dreams.

He needed to study the situation, but one thing was certain.

His soulmate was alive.

-

He quickly got to the island. He ran towards his hut, hoping go find his mother.

And his hopes were met, his mother was eating a fruit once he got to the entrance of the hut.

He lightly stumbled once he was inside his home, alerting his mother.

She opened her eyes and looked at her son curiously.

"Ao'nung, where were you?" she questioned.

"At the Cove of Ancestors, mother" he replied while sitting next to her.

She lightly hummed in response. She was about to get up before the words of her son interrupted her.

"Mother, may I ask you something?" he said.

The woman slightly nodded while looking at the boy in front of her.

"What does it mean when.. you see your soulmate dies in your dreams, but then you see them alive?" He softly questioned.

The woman thought about it for a moment.

"I don't know, it's not usual to dream about your soulmate before meeting them so this types of matters are not usually discussed" she said, deep in thought.

"But maybe it just means the obvious. They came back to life" she continued as she got up from her position and walked towards the entrance of the hut.

"Or it could be delusion, someone coming back to life is very unlikely" She finished as she got out of the hut.

And Ao'nung was left there, thinking.

He saw it with his own eyes, his soulmate died, but then she came back to life.

He couldn't understand it, but he felt relieved.

He always thought he lost his soulmate forever, a soulmate he no longer remembered after so many years of that one dream.

But turns out she was right there, living a few huts away from him, very much alive.

He wanted to speak to Y/N.

He realized why he wanted to follow her around. His subconscious knew who she was.

He walked out of his hut and made his way towards the Sully hut, determined to talk with Y/N.

He wanted to spend time with her, now he felt enchanted by the thought of her.

Before he could make it, he felt someone hold onto his right bicep.

He looked to the side and widened his eyes at the sight of the Metkayina girl smiling up to him.

"How are you doing, Nung?" She asked.

His arranged mate.
