Chapter 7
"Hey, Yoongi," Mina calls cheerfully.
"Why are you so happy late at night?" Yoongi replies.
"I was wondering if you felt like coming over to meet someone," Mina asks nervously. She hears a loud clatter in the background.
"He's there? Right now?"
"Yeah," Mina smirks, "So you're coming?"
"I'll call Jimin and we'll be there,"
"Alright, see you soon," Mina wiggles excitedly as she re-enters the lounge room, where Jung Kook is sitting on the couch. He stares at her, waiting for her to speak.
"They're on their way," Mina giggles, "I'm so thankful that you've agreed to meet them,"
"The pleasure is all mine," Jung Kook bows, "By the way, I want to go over something before they come over,"
"Alright," Mina sits down on the adjacent couch, "Fire away,"
Jung Kook frowns, thinking to himself. He seems to be compiling a list of things to ask. After a long moment, he leans forward and speaks.
"You see, I have an old Monk friend who has told me the basics of what has changed since I last saw a human," He begins, trying to find the right words, "But I wanted to confirm a few things before I meet more people,"
"I understand," Mina smirks, hoping the questions are more funny than offensive, "What do you need to know?"
"I have a good understanding of how politics have changed, but are there any... lords? Or men of a higher calibre in town?"
Mina takes a deep breath, trying to not laugh at his question.
"No, no more of that," Mina shakes her head, "Well, it's not like that anymore. There are people with a lot of money who think they are above normal people, and sometimes are, but not like it was,"
"I see," Jung Kook nods, "Alright, women have more rights now?"
"Yes," Mina rolls her eyes, "Pretty much the same as men in most aspects,"
"Hmm," He nods, "So, for example, no more arranged marriages or classes?"
"Pretty much, everything that use to happen, still happens, but it's not legal," Mina confirms, "Just no capital punishment and more humane laws,"
"That makes sense," He nods, "Alright, I think that's all I was confused about,"
"And modern items," Mina chuckles, "I saw you eyeing everything in here,"
"Well, your house looks like royalty headquarters, but you are not royal or excessively rich," He nods, agreeing with his explanation, "It's going to take a long time for me to wrap my head around all this," He gestures around the room.
