The cat gig was still going on, music still filling all over the canal. Dante and Elvira had moved some distance away around the corner where some humans were grabbing food from a food truck that sold different kinds of chicken. The owner had noticed Dante and Elvira walking by and placed down some grilled chicken bites in a paper bowl for them. It wasn't what Dante planned, but it was nice he was getting to enjoy a romantic dinner with Elvira.

"Geez I never realized how willing humans will give free food away just for being a dog." Dante said.

"Humans are often draw to cuteness. I have humans try to pet me and my family a lot when we are out. I guess because your family doesn't have a human, you guys don't interact with people much?" Elvira said.

"Not really. It's usually for our protection." Dante said.

A group of teenagers suddenly came over on skateboards, going all sorts of directions recklessly. They then came speeding down the sidewalk where Dante and Elvira were sitting. The two pups quickly moved out of the way as the group came through. One of the teens accidentally nudged Dante's guitar, that was sitting on side.

"Ah!" Dante yelled a bit, quickly hurrying over to it as the skaters left.

He quickly unwrapped the cloth it was sitting in, his heart racing in fear as he pulled it out. He checked all over the guitar several times over. Thankfully no damage, not even a scratch.

"Phew." Dante sighed in relief.

Elvira slowly approached. Noticing Dante's reaction.

"You care a lot for that guitar, don't you?" Elvira asked.

"Yeah.........Its because it belonged to my mom. It's one of the few remaining memories of her I have, so I don't really take it out much." Dante explained.

"Is that why you said you don't really play instruments from the other day?" Elvira asked.

"Yeah. I just don't wanna risk breaking it." Dante said, stroking down his paw on the guitar.

Elvira watched as he did so. She looked at his half-opened eyes, seeing how sentimental they were and the slight smile he had. It was moving. She wish she could appreciate that feeling as well. Not really knowing her own parents, more particularly her father, had made that difficult.

Dante looked up at her.

"But it's a special night." He said.

Elvira smiled, feeling a little honored. She felt a small part of herself wanting to get emotional, which was unusual for her.

"Let's go back to the gig." Dante said, as he wrapped the guitar back in the cloth.

After about a few minutes, the two were back under the canal, where this time the Canal Crew were taking a turn on the stage, trying to sing.

Their singing however was an assault to the ears.

"Ok this was a mistake." Dante said to Elvira as they watched the disaster on stage. The crowd booed them.

Soon the band members were trying to the trio off the stage, however Big Fee wasn't having it.

Ey now, no appreciation for good music! Come on, where's the adoration?!" Big Fee said.

"Yeah everyone! Throw some nuts at us!" Sid yelled into the microphone.

"Or whatever food you got. Unless any one of you wants to give us our big break." Fergus added.

"Off now, mates!" The band leader yelled.

"Boooo!" The crowd yelled.

Dante practically cringed watching and shook his head watching the band try to kick off the Canal Crew, who tried running away with the microphone. Elvira however was giggling at the show, always finding the good in things as always. Dante smiled and soon began laughing a bit himself. Her good mood was contagious.

Nothing had been ruined.

And soon later in the night, he was walking Elvira back home.

"So those guys are friends of your family? It's hard to think with how you describe Dylan, that he be friends with Fergus." Elvira said.

"It's a loooong story." Dante said.

They arrived at her sidewalk.

"Thank you for the date tonight Dante, I had fun. Very romantic." Elvira said.

Dante could feel himself blushing and rubbed the back of his neck, trying not to get flustered as he looked into her gaze.

"Play it cool." Dante thought. Regaining his composure.

"Yeah it's no big deal, glad you had fun." He said, trying to keep a cool tone.

Though he thought to end this with a hug, there was a certain mood going around her, around them. Something in Elvira's gaze hinted something that made Dante's eyes widen, and body sweat at the idea that her expression implied. Was he ready for it though?

"Come on......don't be a chicken. It's nothing to freak out about." Dante thought.

But he didn't want to assume. He breathed deeply.

"Um....are you wanting to kiss me, because that's fine if-MPHF!"

Dante didn't even get to get the last few words out before he found himself leaned back, ears and tail sprung up, as he found his lips pressed against Elvira's. Dante was beside himself with how quickly and how it was happening. He had just assumed she would give him a lick on the nose or cheek. Though completely off guard, he felt no urge or desire to move away.

Until after about six seconds and Elvira pulled herself away, turning around with her tail wagging harder than ever, and leaving a stunned Dante in her wake.

"Tee hee, goodnight Dante. You're a great kisser by the way." Elvira gleefully stated. "See ya."

"Um........goodnight." Dante said, staring at her.

He was still processing what had just went down a few seconds after she closed the door, then he felt his body droop and looked over his shoulder briefly to see his tail giving slow thumps to the ground. Feelings of warmth flowing in him, and a bit of a goofy smile managing to get on his face.

As much as it would drive Dylan crazy, he was not brushing his teeth again tonight.
