All that happened in the walls of Hastinapur's palace was something the Kuru family never forget. The hatred between Pandavas and Kaurvas. The hidden deep truth was that none of them actually hated each other. The Kaurva's ears and hearts were filled with hatred by their own Uncle, Gandhar Raj. The Pandavas just reciprocated the hatred except for Yudhishtir.
After fights, snarks, comments, glares, comebacks, and last but not least poisoning were becoming something that was more and more severe.
Anyone could cut the tension between the two groups of children with a knife when they used to be with the Elders. It was then that Bhishma decided that the Pandavs and Kauravs needed their Education.
But the question was how could they find a prestigious guru, which would lead and make the future King of Hastinapur. Bhishma was taught by Bhagwan Parshuram. But he knew that Bhagwan Parshuram's nature couldn't handle 105 Kuru-Kumars.
Then he thought of Dronacharya. He is described to be the son of the sage Bharadvaja, and a descendant of the sage Angirasa. The preceptor is a master of advanced military arts, including the divine weapons known as astras. 'Yes, he will be the teacher of Kuruvansh' Bhishma thought
Bhishma brought the news to Dhritrashtra and Vidur as well as the mothers of Kauravas and Pandavs.
Guru Dronacharya was requested to be the teacher of the young Kuru- Rajkumars. Which was delightfully accepted by him. He presented himself in the palace of Hastinapur.
Kunti went to her sons to tell them the news, that they will soon be going to go away from her to complete their education. Her heart sank a bit at the thought that her sons were going to go away from her but knew that it was necessary.
" Pranipat Mata" Pandavs and Pandavanuja (Drina) greeted their mother
" Ayushman bhava, my children" she blessed and smiled at them
" What happened Mata?" Sahdev asked her
" Sons, I have come here to inform you that, from now on you must leave the palace and go to Gurukul to receive your education. Guru Dronacharya will be your teacher. He is very well known in military arts and knows about many divine astras and weapons. He will be the one who will teach you your Kshatriya Dharma. You must always listen to him and respect and follow his decision" Kunti explained to her sons
Drina was slightly angered and offended that why was she not offered the chance of education, just because she was a girl.
" Mata, I also want to get educated with my brothers" she startled everyone by putting up her opinion
" You will get educated putri in Kanyawas" Kunti reminded her daughter
" Mata, even Mahadev said that I should be educated like a ruler and warrior. Kanyawas won't be able to provide that." She pointed out the fact
" Drina, we would love that you also get educated with us" Arjun said to Drina, trying to lift up her mood as he knew she was angry and sad
" But it is not in our hands. So you must convince elders and Guru Drona" Yudhishtir softly said
They all went to the Halls and Court of Hastinapur. " Elders!" Yudhisters greeted them with his Anujs and Anuja
"Yes Yudhishtir," said Bhisma
" Our sister, Pandu Putri Drina wants to learn from Guru Drona as we will. Maharaj" Arjun respectfully told
Shakuni scoffed " A girl wants to learn about the military, wealth, wars, and astras!"
"At least let our sister tell her point of view, Guru Drona" Nakul politely requested
Guru Dronacharya nodded. And Drina came out, first, she touched Guru Drona's feet then greeted Bhishma and then Maharaj.
Drona had heard about Pandu's daughter whom he had adopted. The one who was a prasad of gods and given by Mahakal and Mahakali.
" Do I have permission to speak, Maharaj?" She asked and he nodded. Drona was slightly impressed by her.
" Today I don't ask as Kuru- Rajkumari. I ask as a curious citizen or child," she announced
" Why do you want to learn all this even though you know that you are a girl" Guru Drona questioned, " If you satisfy me with your answer, I will accept you as my student."
Something as if waked up in her eyes, Determination. " When the gods could not defeat Mahishasur, even after many tries. They all took shelter in Mahakali's presence. They gave her weapons and astras. She is the one who beheads everyone in battle. The one who carries many astras. The one who is feared. She is the one who is prayed to at times of battle and war, Guru Drona. Here is my answer about if a woman should learn about war and the military, and use weapons. Maa Mahakali." Guru Drona looked impressed
" Then about education and knowledge, We all know we pray to Maa Saraswati, a female not a Male. Goddess Saraswati is the embodiment of knowledge, wisdom and learning. The word Saraswati has been derived from the two words, knowledge (Sara) and self (Sva). She is draped in a white saree or mustard coloured or basanti saree. White signifies purity and her demeanour reflects the same. In her two rear hands, she holds akshmala or prayer beads in her right hand and pustaka or book in her left hand. With her two forehands, she plays the musical instrument veena which symbolizes harmony. About education my answer is Maa Saraswati" She looked at Guru Drona and he nodded in assurance that he was agreeing too
" Then it is believed that mean should earn wealth. When house's Lakshmi is in the house. Maa Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, a female not a male. Without wealth, a ruler is no ruler. Even the greatest of kings have begged Maa Lakshmi to enter their lives. Then Maa Lakshmi resides in girls and ladies, not boys and men, guruji. My answer for wealth is Maa Lakshmi" Guru Drona was in awe that a little girl was able to explain this so effortlessly. Not only him the whole court was in an awe.
" When Battle, Knowledge and Wealth which are necessary for a man, are all female. Then why are females not taught these?" She asked more like challenged the court
" Putri Drina. You are definitely the gift of Mahakal and Mahakali. The prasad of gods." Said Bhishma and Vidur looked proud at his niece
" I have accepted you as my student, Putri." Drona accepted her. " But how did you receive and learn this Divya Gyan (Wonderful knowledge)?" he asked
Drina smiled and answered " Ocean does not need to learn about its waves, Sun does not need to search for his Sunshine, Water does not to receive it's purity, Guruji. It is simply there."
Dronachary looked proud so did the Pandavs. They knew her sister was much more capable and on the contrary, the Kaurvas looked disgustfully at her.
" You will be called Ayudhina in Gurukul, putri" Drona said to her
