Two nights back (Flashback)
Drina still hadn't gained consciousness. Dark bags decorated the skin under her eyes, accentuating her already dark features. Her skin was pale like paper, her face wholly drained from colour. Everyone in the Kuru family was worried sick but someone outside them was even more worried than them, Radhey Karn. It was the night of Drina's attack. He preferred to say attack than an accident.
He entered Drina's chamber when none was around, he saw her and sat beside her. He looked at her Nityayuvani beauty. Normally she had beautiful fair brown skin, her green-blue doe eyes were captivating, and her plum lips were just pale now but now she just looked like a corpse.
He felt guilty for some reason, she always had tried to protect him and when she was in so much pain, he couldn't do anything. He held her hand in his and started speaking while looking at her, "Drina, I always believed that no one in this universe ever supported me, no one could see the determination in me except you. You helped me when even I couldn't help myself. I am feeling accountable for your pain. I know that this venom is deadly and I know you are a very stubborn person and you are always stuck with me." his voice cracked and his eyes were wet, "I am leaving for Ang because I can't see you in this state. I will come when you wake up". His hands automatically touched her cold cheek, "I will protect you forever, but please be strong this time" He left the chamber, glancing back at her once.
Present Day
Drina was practising her Archery, she couldn't walk on her own so, archery while standing was enough to let her steam off. You must be wondering what she was angry about, 'She knew Duryodhan has planned the attack but still had no proof about it'. She pulled the bowstring and the arrow flung at the boundary of the target. Drina furrowed her eyebrows and let out a frustrated sigh.
Karn entered the Archery practising arena. He saw Drina look frustrated and decided to lighten up her mood. "You look frustrated" he commented. Drina gave him a look which said 'You think so?', "Not at all Radhey. I can't walk without someone's support. Neither can I enjoy my time at archery because of all the tension. Why should I be frustrated at all" She sarcastically ranted.
Karn's eyes held a twinkle of mischief and he stood beside her. "Of course why should my sakhi be agitated at all? The warrior Ayudhina (Drina) whose arrow multiplied into a hundred, can't shoot at her simple target. You are right." he fooled her around, suppressing a chuckle.
Drina snapped her head towards her and gave him a death glare, "Are you trying to mock me, Radhey?" she angrily said
Karn laughed and shook his head, "Not at all" he denied. "Radha ma was right. You were naughty and still are. If you don't stop this Radhey, I will tell Radha ma" she warned. Karn smiled, "Go and tell" he nonchalantly answered. Drina was about to move when she remembered she can't move on her own. She pursed her lips and picked up an arrow. Karn came near her and stood extremely near her so that her back was almost touching his chest. "You are doing it wrong" he whispered, which sent shivers down her spine. "Then why don't you teach me?" she suggested slowly

Karn slowly supported the bow with his left hand. He held her hand in his right one, gently gripping it. He looked directly" at her face which shined like a jewel as the sun's rays hit her face. Drina on the contrary felt too nervous to look at him and looked at the target. "Breath in" he instructed, she took in a breath slowly. "Calm down your mind. Make it empty" he ordered slowly. Drina slowly took all of her frustration out of her mind. "Close your eyes", she slowly closed her eyes. "Think of any person who makes you calm," he told, and suddenly Karn came into her mind. "Release" he instructed and without even looking at the target, the arrow pierced the target in middle.
Drina chuckled in triumph. "I heard you left for Angdesh the night of the accident. Did you come back yesterday for the night occasion?" she questioned. "I came back when I got to know you woke up." he sheepishly answered.
"Show me what you can do Radhey?" Drina challenged him. Karn smiled and looked at the three targets in a row. The targets were very small and dangling at a height, the three of them were back to back, and a normal archer wouldn't be able to pierce even one of them. "What would I get in return?" he asked with a smirk. "Whatever you want" she promised. "Whatever I want?" he repeated, "Whatever you want" she confirmed. Karn looked into her deep ocean eyes and slowly saw the reflection of the targets. He kept staring at her eyes and adjusted his bow and stretched the bowstring, Drina kept gazing into his honey-brown eyes as if she was awestruck by his almond eyes. Karn released the arrow without looking at the targets, and his single arrow pierced every single one of them.
Drina chuckled and asked, " What do you want Karn?". Karn looked at her and replied, "I once understood that a promise should not be used early, save it when you need it. I will ask you anything I want and you can't say no in the future. But Drina remember your words and make a vow" he teasingly said with a mischievous smirk
"Okay, I Pandu putri Drina vow that whenever Radhey Karn will ask me something in return, I will not deny his request as I have promised him" she pledged, Karns's eyes widened and he said, "I was joking sakhi," he said. Drina smiled, "A promise is a promise"
A dasi entered the chamber and said, "Hail Rajkumari and Angraj. You both have been summoned to the court". They both nodded and went to the Sabha of Hastinapur.
All the ministers, Vidur Kaka, Pitamah, Pandavs and Kauravs were already there. Karn went beside Duryodhan and Drina beside Pandavas. Drina at first didn't notice GuruDrona also sitting there but he was. "Guru Dev I will wage a war against Panchal to complete my GuruDakshina," said Duryodhan with arrogance. " I have a proposition that who so ever wins over Panchal. Will become the King of Hastinapur. Either Kauravs or Pandavs" Drona advised.
"Of course Gurudev. This is a brilliant idea." praised Bhishma
" We will fill our end of Guru Dakshina" sincerely said Yudhishtir
"I would also like to participate in this at the side of my mitr," said Karn to Drona
Drona scoffed, "I don't want you to participate in this. I haven't taught you, don't know if you have even the capability of fighting like a Kshatriya" he insulted him. Karn clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.
Drina's eyes hardened and she said, " I deeply apologize Gurudev but I won't be able to fulfil your Guru Dakshina". Drona raised his eyebrows and asked softly, "What happened putri Ayudhina?"
"I have deep wounds in my feet. So I cannot walk. But I will help my brothers with all the Planning and preparation. I will defiantly fill your Dakshina in any other way possible." she explained
Drona smiled, " You are a special student of mine, your Dakshina will also be different."
The court was dismissed and Drina went to help her brothers.
