It made sense. What army would leave without their general? Even if Melody and her partner were the new alphas, they may not have been accepted as the new alphas. Each pack has different rituals.
"Your alpha was attacked?!"
Melody nodded her head slowly.
I gripped Dimitri's fur between my fingers and growled softly. "Dammit."
I sprinted to the house. I felt Dimitri's breath on my heels. I heard Melody's bare feet digging into the soil as she tried to keep up.
I flung open the screen door, my eyes darted in every direction. My packmates had incircled most of the wolves. Others were pinned up on walls by a wolf other than our pack.
Dimitri shoulderd his way past me and howled as firece as he could. It was a howl mixed with a growl of rage.
Everyone turned to look at him, their eyes wide with admonishment, however most was fear. In his rage, Dimitri had ignited an enferno around him.
I rested my hand on him and he shifted back to his human form. "Everyone," Dimitri roared, "out of the house, now!"
Murmers of complaints filled the room as wolves filed out of the house.
Ignasio eyed him. "What the hell?"
Dimitri huffed. "Just get outside." He growled between gritted teeth.
Ignasio nodded and did as he was told. Soon, there was only two wolves left. Tarence, and Carver, Dimitri's father.
Tarence stood slowly and walked up to Dimitri, Carver stood behind Tarence.
"Traitor." Tarence spat.
Dimitri growled. "I'm not in the mood for this. Get. Out."
"Why should I listen to you?" Tarence smirked. "An omega who left his own pack, and for what reason? A bitch who can't even keep her own pack in line."
Carver grabbed Tarence's bicep. "That's enough."
Tarence ripped his arm away and glared at Carver.
I could've harmed him then and there, but I decided against my best instinct to do so. However, I couldn't let him get away with nothing.
I pointed my finger at Tarence's foot and zapped him. Tarence yellped and shifted his weight to his other foot. He whinned heavily and hopped out the door.
Carver looked up at his son with sadness in his eyes. "I'm proud of you. Even if you don't believe me."
"You're right. I don't. Get out of my house." Dimitri eyed Carver as he walked out the door.
Dimitri sighed. I wrapped my arms around one of his and rested my head on his shoulder. "You okay?"
Dimitri nodded. "I'm fine." He turned his head towards the door. "Looks like we get to show them our powers now."
"We don't have to yet," I said, "but due to your little outburst we might have to."
I walked out of the house and heard the screen door slam behind me. It seemed everyone from all the packs had come.
"They're coming again!"
"Why hasn't anyone had dreams about it?"
"What are we going to do? The war is starting again!"
I growled softly. "Will all of you shut up!" My voice echoed through the trees sending birds scattering.
All heads turned. Tarence eyed me. "Why should we listen to the bitch of the guy who secretes fire?"
