Zoran murmured softly. "Dimitri...I must use you as a vessel...it is the only way to defeat Theo."

Dimitri's eyes widened. "You mean...enter my body?! Have full control of me?! Hell no!"

Zoran lept down. "Dimitri, I understand, I truly do, but this is the only way to-"

"To defeat my dad, I know, but he wants my pelt on his wall!" Dimitri said

"Yes," Zoran argued, "but he wants Archer dead as well."

Dimitri sighed. "Can we speak about this...alone?" He motioned towards me.

"Of course."

Zoran and Dimitri walked away, whispering in hushed tones.

My head swirled. My mate was the son of the king of Hell. So, I'm the daughter in law to the king of Hell. What did I get myself into?

Zoran lifted his head, his eyes on me for one moment, he then nodded. Dimitri's shoulders fell. He seemed less tense.

The two stood and walked back to me.

I stood and ran to them, meeting them half way. "Well?" I asked.

Dimitri smiled nervously. "I've agreed to it. He knows my limits, it'll be fine." He moved to nuzzle me. I moved away.

"He'll live, right?"

Zoran nodded. "Of course, no harm will come to him"

I sighed. "Good."

Dimitri licked my ear and whimpered. "We should get ready." He whispered.

Zoran nodded. "Yes. I shall return tomorrow morning."

Zoran faded away.

I could hear my heart pounding in my ears. 'Zoran better keep his promise...' I thought.

"He will," Dimitri whispered, "I wouldn't have taken it up if he wouldn't. You'll be safe, I promise."

I looked to him. "I don't mean me. I'm worried about you." I walked off, my head hanging low.

Dimitri sighed and walked the other way.

I would take half of the packs, he would take the other.

I looked around as I moved. Tarence and his patrol had returned. The food was stocked and herbs were gathered in a pile. Two wolves were separating them as I passed.

The two separated berries, leaves, roots, and anything else we'd need. As well as bandages, pills, ice, needles and thread, and anything some of the healers had with them. If we needed to, we'd shift during or after battle to stitch up a wound.

Most herbs are for wolves that are severely injured in battle. The others are for the elders to help with wounds once we're safe from harm.

I went along the line. Piles of rabbits lay dead. They must have found a den or something.

Wolves picked them up softly and carried them to the wolves that hadn't eaten yet.

One of the Yorkshire wolves, Flora, looked to me. She singled out a large rabbit and nosed it to me.

"Here," her voice shaking slightly, "You need to eat." She spoke soft, but that was just the warm tone of her voice.

"I'll eat once all of my pack is fed, but thank you."

Flora bowed her head. "I'll save this for you, Alima." She picked it up in her jaws and set it to the side of the pile.

I flattened my ears as I moved. The Yorkshire alpha, the one attacked by the hell hounds, was laying on his side. His lungs taking in shallow breaths. Melody lay at his side.
