"So what exactly do you eat?" Erdwin asked, trying to make conversation with Yulia as they brewed some coffee in the kitchen.
"Just regular food," Yulia replied, not looking up from the task at hand.
"Regular food?" Erdwin echoed, arching an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Yulia looked up and gave him a bemused smile. "You know, rice, vegetables, meat, all that kind of stuff?"
Erdwin looked skeptical. "But aren't you a ghoul? Don't you need to feed on human flesh to survive?"
Yulia shook her head. "No, that's a common misconception. Not all ghouls feed on humans. Some of us can sustain ourselves on regular food just fine."
Erdwin's eyes went wide as he tried to process this information. "Really? That's so strange. I've never heard of that before."
"Well, every ghoul is different," Yulia said with a shrug. "Just like humans, every one of us has different tastes and dietary needs."
Erdwin scratched his head, still trying to wrap his mind around this concept. "So what you're saying is, you don't eat humans?"
Yulia gave him a stern look. "Of course not. That's completely unethical and goes against everything I believe in."
Erdwin nodded, looking relieved. "Well, that's good to know. So how does it work? I mean, how can you survive on regular food and not need to feed on humans?"
Yulia smiled, happy to educate someone about her kind. "It all comes down to genetics. Some ghouls are born with the ability to sustain themselves on regular food, while others are not. It's just like how some humans are lactose intolerant, or have other dietary restrictions."
Erdwin nodded, taking it all in. "Wow, I never realized that. I guess I always just assumed that all ghouls were the same."
"Nope, not at all," Yulia said, placing a mug of steaming coffee in front of him. "We're just like any other species. We come in all shapes and sizes and have unique abilities and characteristics."
Erdwin took a sip of the coffee, closing his eyes in appreciation. "This is really good, by the way. Thanks for making it for me."
Yulia smiled. "You're welcome. I'm glad you like it."
As they sat there, sipping their coffee and chatting about their individual backgrounds, Erdwin couldn't help but feel grateful for this unexpected friendship he had formed with Yulia. Despite their differences, they had found common ground and were able to have a peaceful conversation without any animosity or fear.
Maybe it was the caffeine, or maybe it was something else, but either way, Erdwin felt a warm feeling in his chest as he sat there with Yulia, enjoying each other's company. He couldn't wait to see what the future held for the two of them and their unlikely friendship.
The end.
