I came back to John B's once I heard about the hurricane. I'm not very keen on thunder so I like to have company with me the best of times. I walked up to the door, walking in to see JJ and John B on the couch talking as they heard the door slam shut they stopped the conversation and turned around. I didn't look at JJ. I wasn't actually mad at him but then I just didn't like the fact he gave me an attitude.

"Hey, Reese." John B says as he got up to walk to me

"Sup." I say as I drop my bag down on the floor by the counter

"What are you doing here?" John B ask even though he knew I don't like thunder

"Not keen on thunder so staying here." I say then I heard JJ scoffing, causing John B to look at him, "you got a problem about that, JJ?" He looks at me

"Oh, no. No." He says, shaking his head. I walked towards the pullout couch but I stopped behind JJ

"Can you not give me attitude, bro?" I said
quietly so John B wouldn't hear, then I walked to the pullout couch and lied back on it, "so, what were you talking about?"

"You." I heard John B's voice and I sat up

"Me? Why?" I ask, I kept my eyes on JJ who was avoiding my eyes

"JJ started it." John B says as he walk to his bedroom, leaving me and JJ

"Yo, bro, what the fuck?" JJ says and he looks at me

"Okay, tell me." I say and crossed my legs

"I just told John B about how you slammed the door." JJ says

"Oh, that. Yeah, well, I didn't exactly mean to slam the door." I say as I laid back down

"Sure." JJ says sarcastically, I rolled my eyes and looked up at the ceiling, "so, um, you didn't go home, did you?"

"Well, where else was I supposed to go?" I say, not taking my eyes of the ceiling

"Was he home?" JJ says, I know he worries about me going home like I do with him

"What? My dad? Oh, no." I say

"Are you sure?" JJ says and I sat up to look at him

"Yes, can you see any bruises or marks showing up?" I said and he shook his head but something told me he didn't believe me, "look, JJ, I know you worry about me going home but it's the same when you go home. If anything happened I think I would've said something to you by now."

"Okay, okay. I just care about you, you're my best friend, Reese." JJ says as he looks away, I got up from the pullout couch and stood by him which made him look up. I reached out my arms, giving a hint to hug me then it took a few seconds before he realised and stood up to hug me. I always love hugging JJ, his hugs make me feel safe.

"If it happens again, promise me you will tell me straight away." JJ says as he puts his head on my shoulder. I smiled.

"I promise."

The moment didn't last long when we heard John B clearing his throat which made us pull away quickly.

"No Pogue On Pogue Macking." John B says

"Bro, we were just hugging each other, we don't like each other like that." I say and then look down, what if we did? I turn around and walk back to the pullout.

"Mmm-mm." John B says

"Just get out JB." I said and then I laid down.

I kept flinching at the noise of thunder, I could hardly get any sleep. JJ was on the couch sleeping while John B was in his bedroom. I managed to fall asleep though.

I got woken up but the sound of the light switch turning on and off, I'm a very light sleeper. I saw John B standing there.

"No power? What else?" I say causing him to turn around, I slowly got up from the pullout to the kitchen.

"No service." John B replied

"Oh great." I say as John B walked towards JJ and I grabbed a bottle of beer. I know it's early but I don't care. JJ groans

"Yo, JJ, you been outside?" John B asks as I open the bottle of beer.

"I have polio, bro. I can't walk." JJ says

"Damn, that's a shame." I say as I follow John B outside. When I told you I was shocked to see the mess, I was shocked like for real.

"Great." I say then I took a slip of my beer

"That is not good." John B says as he puts his arms on his head. John B walked to the hammock as he complains and I just walked towards JJ who was coming out the porch

"Agatha did some work, huh?" JJ says and I nod

"Yeah, she did." John B says

"Got a beer too, cheers." I say as I hold up my beer to clink JJ's beer but JJ only takes a sip of his, "bro, I was, you know what, never mind." he just laughs and I roll my eyes

"Sorry, princess." he says but he only grabs my hand that wasn't holding my beer to walk me down towards John B. I let go of it so I could take a sip of my beer and lean on JJ's shoulder. John B carries on grabbing the stuff inside the boat

"Whatcha thinking?" JJ says as John B sits on the boat

"I'm thinking that storm surge pushed all the crabs out on the marsh maze. All those drum are gonna chase the crab." John B explains

"What about the DCS? Wasn't that today?" JJ asks

I couldn't help but look at his topless torso, he's fit. I must admit, I look back at John B while taking another sip of my drink

"Nah, they're not getting on a ferry." John B says, "Come on, think about it. It's God telling us to fish."

"Yeah, okay, well, let me change first." I say as I start to walk to the front porch

"Don't take long!" I hear JJ shout from behind me.

I walked in and grabbed my bag and I grabbed my light blue bikini and my denim shorts then went to the bathroom to change. As I looked in the mirror only wearing my new bikini I bought a few weeks back, I looked at my stomach, noticing a small scar down the middle of my stomach. My friends knew I had it, of course, but I never really told them the full story. I heard a knock which made me grab my denim shorts and my dirty converses and put them on as fast as I could, then I walked out to see JJ.

"Jesus Christ, man, you scared the shit out of me." I say as he looks me up and down which caused me to slap his arm

"Hey! What was that for?" He asks and I only rolled my eyes then grabbed his hand and pulled him along

John B was already on the boat by the time we walked down the dock

"Took you long enough, Reese. What was she doing?" John B asks JJ

"Probably checking herself out, with a body like that." He says as he jumps onto the boat and I roll my eyes

"Actually I was looking at my scar." I say then I slightly point to the scar on my stomach

"Oh." JJ and John B said at the same time, before they could say anything else I jumped in the boat.

"Let's get the children, then." I say referring to Pope and Kiara, John B wasted no time and started the boat up.
