After finding out we found the compass, I went home. Well, Kiara cleaned me up and put a bandage on my graze before I left. When I got home, I saw that my dad was passed out on the couch with the tv still on and pills laying around on the coffee table. He should be out for at least another hour. I went to my bedroom and jumped on my bed. My arm hurts like a bitch.

A few hours later, I heard some banging coming from the kitchen.

"Great." I say as I get up and walked over to my door

"Maryse!" My dad yells, I open the door

"What!"

"Get here now!"

Fuck sake. What's up now. I made my way downstairs to see my dad leaning against the counter with a bottle of beer in his hands.

"Yes?" I ask

"Can you stay at a friends house tonight? My friends are coming over." He says

Surprisingly this didn't shock me, this happens most nights. I nod as walk back to my room and grabbed a few things and shoving them into my bag.

I was woken up by banging on a window from the living room at John B's house. Probably JJ messing about, per usual. I got dressed, I decided to wear my flower bikini set with light washed denim shorts, with my white cropped cardigan and obviously with my dirty converses. John B, JJ and I were in the twinkie driving to Scooter's house. I'm in the back on my phone while the boys are chatting.

"I'm just saying, I don't understand why you don't at least try with Kiara. She clearly likes you." JJ says

"I think she likes you, John B." I pipe up

"Exactly and she's like, 'Oh, John B.'" JJ says moaning

"Is that what she does?" John B asks and I let out a chuckle

"She's sketching about you diving, then she kissed you." JJ says

"She kissed me on the cheek." John B says

"Same thing." I say

"It's not like we were making out." John B says

"Low-hanging fruit, bro. Don't pretend you don't notice." JJ says

"Everyone can see it." I say

"You're like, 'I kinda like that,' and you start blushing and shit." JJ says

"I blush?" John B asks

"Yes, a lot."
"Yeah."

Me and JJ says at the same time. I move closer to the front as JJ grabs the compass but John B tries grabs it back from him

"Hey! Don't." John B says

"I was just looking at it." JJ says

"Protective much?" I laugh

"I gotta admit, your father's compass in Scooter's boat, that's freaky." JJ admits

"For real." I agree, "Like why did Scooter have it?"

"I don't know, Reese. But that's why we're going to talk to Ms. Lana, figure this whole thing out."John B says

"I'm sure she would just love to talk to us." JJ says

"Yep. It's not like her husband just drowned or anything." I say sarcastically

"Reese, please, shut up." John B says and I put my hands up in defence

"My bad." I say innocently

"I mean, Reese is right." JJ says trying to help me out

"JJ, shut up." John B says
