Morning came, leaving streaks of warm gentle sunlight peaking in through the window blinds.

The brightness woke Hei Jinyu from his sleep as he frowned, his vision still slightly blurred, but the image of the person who treated him last night was vividly imprinted in his mind.

He tilted his head slowly and saw the note left by the table and reached out to grab it, ignoring the pain his wounds caused from having moved.

"Take the medicine and follow the prescription if you want to continue living. "

His eyes darkened slightly, crushing the paper in his hands.

Outside, a rush of footsteps and commotion was happening, an out of breath old man, dressed in his white robes carrying a medicine box arrived in haste the guards hurriedly let him in without much questions.

Physician Shang had spent the whole night travelling to the town on urgent notice, dark circles around his eyes and his usually neat hair was messy. One could easily see that he was travel-worn and weary.

But when he entered the room, he found that Hei Jinyu was already sitting on his bed, his clothes were worn loosely revealing his chest that was wrapped neatly in bandages.

Hei Jinyu was gazing at a jade bottle in his hands, so deep in thought that he unknowingly forgot to conceal his domineering aura.

"C-commanding General Hei."

Physician Shang felt nervous all the way to his bones but still tried to calmly walk forward in greeting, secretly catching his breath.

Hearing the voice, Hei Jinyu was pulled back from his thoughts, glanced at the older man, his gaze and aura had returned to its usual calm and collected self.

"At ease."

His words were spoken languidly, but his tone was still heavy and intimidating,

After removing the bandages and doing a thorough checkup, Physician Shang was speechless.

"This..."

"What's the matter?"

Seeing how well his wounds were handled, Physician Shang couldn't help but widen his eyes in awe.

He hesitated slightly but ended up replying,

"T-the wound is handled well. Could General Hei please introduce me to the Physician who treated you?"

Physician Shang only knew of two other people aside from himself that were capable of such a feat. No, even he himself would not have been able to do such a splendid job.

One was the current head of the Imperial physician bureau and the other was the wondering doctor who was rumored to be able to bring even the dead back to life.

The day before, his students were the first to arrive and after carefully examining his injuries, they all agreed that it was too dangerous for them to handle the deep slash across Hei Jinyu's chest with their capabilities.

The slash was so deep that one could faintly see bones and there was also some sort of metal bits stuck to the flesh. The students who examined the wound couldn't even figure out what type of weapon could cause such an injury.

And as such had merely stopped the bleeding and cleaned up the wound to the best of their abilities and continued to monitor Hei Jinyu while waiting for his arrival.

But now, seeing such detailed and intricate treatment, Physician Shang really wanted to meet the person who had such godly hands. He even entertained the thought to ask that person to accept him as a student.
