How exactly the plan would work, Qin Ruisheng couldn't be bothered to explain.
She would just do it herself. It was not like it was hard at all.
Things like manipulating the enemy, feeding them fake intel and the sort, she had always done things like that by herself.
Once she was back in her own courtyard, she made her way to the library.
"You two may retire for the night."
It was not uncommon for Qin Ruisheng to stay inside the library for the entire day so the two serving girls behind her didn't find it strange, closing the doors and retreating only after setting some tea and snacks for her.
Seeing that the two maids had retired, Qin Ruisheng rolled up her sleeves, tying her hair into a casual bun secured in place with a wooden pin as she scoured the entire place, going through dust covered books, scrolls and shelves.
The entire study room was packed to the brim with books and scrolls. There were rows and rows of shelves lined with books, some even stacked in piles on the floor covered in dust.
Even though the Jinan Hei manor* could not be compared to the main manor in the capital, this place also happened to be one of the manors where the Hei Brother's Great Grand Aunt use to reside in due to her sickly health.
She loved collecting books and spending her time reading, so this manor became filled with books.
When Qin Ruisheng moved in, she found interest in the different books and ordered the maids to collect the books in the manor and store them in this room, turning it into a library.
Only after awhile did she finally found what she was searching for.
Her fingers smoothed over the yellowed papers, spreading the paper over the mahogany desk, studying the detailed terrains drawn carefully on the map.
She sat there for a long time, flipping through many different old papers and maps.
It wasn't until the skies had turned dark and the moon shined high in the midnight sky, that her shadow nimbly made its way over the manor walls, easily avoiding all the guards once again.
Outside the border town of Jinan was an entirely forested area, a piece of unfathomable and boundless rainforest which seemed to have been left untouched by civilizations.
When the current Emperor rose to the throne, he ordered for the Southern wilderness to be conquered.
The southern wilderness was a common border between Great Bei and the neighboring country of Yong, a small region that sits on the forested area, home to various tribes and nomads.
These dense forested area was a key point in securing and strengthen their defenses against the neighboring Empire of Yong which were showing signs of hostility.
After the order of the Emperor, the various tribes slowly surrendered. All but the Turubei tribe led by Turu Ghan.
The fearsome chieftan led his tribesmen, along with those who were unwilling to surrender. Escaping to the deepest part of the forest.
Every now and then, the Turubei's bandits would come out and raid the border towns and villages, rebelling against the Imperial court.
Initially, the bandits only looted and plundered the towns but after 2 years, their actions grew more sinister, even leading to the deaths of countless people.
Not only that, each time they attacked, it seems like their weapons became more and more enhanced, seeming like there is someone secretly controlling them.
