As Hei Jinyu mentioned, the next stop area was actually a small village town.

Normally, the entire battalion would just camp out in the wilderness but since Qin Ruisheng was with them, to accommodate her, Hei Jinyu decided that if there was a proper place to rest, then they would do so.

But the entire battalion troops were too large to enter the town. So Hei Weiyu and Hei Zhiyu were left in charge of arranging the campsites to rest for the night.

Once they neared the village town, Qin Ruisheng actually sat back up properly, but as soon as they entered, she stuck out a tongue at Hei Jinyu, and lightly hopped off her horse.

Since they were in a town, she would rather walk on her own. It has been a while since she could travel around like this again.

Hei Jinyu sighed as he pinched the space between his brows. Now he understood why she was called a mischievous little devil by her father.

Left with no other choice, he also dismounted and followed closely behind her together with their horses.

If not for his heroic visage and armor, one might truly have mistaken him for a young miss's servant boy.

The village town was simple and although it couldn't be compared with those around the capital, the people here seemed humble and welcoming.

But as she kept walking, she couldn't help but feel that something seemed slightly off.

With each step she took, her dark eyes narrowed and the smile on her lips became frostier.

There were stalls on either side of the large street. From food to toys, the choices were plenty.

Stopping at a small trinket stall, she picked up some small charms and trinkets, gazing at them gently as she softly made a remark to Hei Jinyu.

"Hei Jinyu, this village town ..."

"I know."

His words cut her off before she could even finish, his calm eyes looking ahead in the distance.

A fat and older-looking man stuck out like a sore thumb. He was the only person dressed to the nines, his clothes were lavish and gold hung from every inch of his body. He didn't fit in at all in this modest-looking village town street.

He wobbled on his stumpy legs all the way until he arrived in front of Hei Jinyu, cupping one fist with the other.

"General Hei, this one is Liu Minde, the town's chief. Please forgive this one for not coming sooner to welcome you."

'So this person is the village town's chief.'

Qin Ruisheng eyed the stumpy old man, the smile on her lips deepening.

Feeling the pair of eyes on him, Liu MinDe's beady eyes flicked to the lady standing beside the formidable general.

She was smiling at him lightly, the edges of her brow exuding an indescribable feeling. One look and one would think she was but an ordinary naïve and inexperienced young miss but if one observed long enough they would find that she had the bearing of an elegant and matured woman.

This type of woman was definitely a unique find and greatly piqued ones interest.

Unable to hide the dirty intentions floating in his mind, Liu Minde humbly asked,

"Oh, and this lady is?"

Before Hei Jinyu could even speak, Qin Ruisheng instantly stepped up, like a beautiful blooming flower, bending her soft waist slightly,
