Knock.
            Knock.
                        Knock.

Three knocks on Jenny's apartment caught her attention. She got up from her couch and put her phone on the small table right next to it.

She put her hand on the cold handle, pushed it down and opened the door just enough to see who's outside.

"Babe!" She said in a surprised tone "You never told me you were coming." a small smile made its way on her face as she opened the door a little more to let him come in.

"That's the whole point of a surprise, isn't it?" He asked sarcastically.

"Mhm." She nodded in agreement.

"Well, why did you come here? For what do I owe this pleasure?" She wondered

"Well, first of all," He paused, he tilted his head as he laid onto the doorframe .

"I want to go out with you tonight."  He smiled, his eyes so soft and bright like those of a puppy. She felt herself drown into the look he gave her. Those damn puppy eyes she thought to herself.

"How can I say no to that look?" She laughed. "What's second of all?" She asked.

"You'll have to look outside. I gave you a hint just now." He smiled, his tone was filled with excitement, and so was his smile. Jenny walked outside her apartment and looked next to the door only to see a small cage, and a small puppy inside of it. "Oh my god."

"A golden retriever." He spread his arms for a moment then put them down as he said in excitement. "It's a she," he said as he put his hands down.
"You've always said you wanted a puppy, you considered getting one at some point too," he paused, "I figured I'd get us a puppy." He gave her a warm smile as she turned around and wrapped her hands around his neck

"I love this reaction; you should do more spontaneous hugs." He said. She felt his arms get wrapped around her, she felt safer than ever.

"I'll consider it," she said sarcastically. "But now, let's welcome this little pupper to her new home." She ran back outside and grabbed the cage; she put it on the floor and closed the front door.

"Should I do something before opening the cage?" She asked.

"You don't," Shawn said "I'll get her food all set up for her while you get to know her a little more,"

"Thank you!" She clapped as she got on her knees to open up the cage. she was relieved that she won't have to do the first set up, mainly because she had no idea where to start.

"Ok if you bite, don't." She put her hand in the cage and pulled the puppy out of her cage. She felt the puppy's soft fur against her finger tips before lifting it out of its little box. She held the puppy in her arm and immediately fell in love with that thing.
The puppy started smelling her and liking her chin. Jenny hugged her new friend tightly. Judging by the puppy's reaction, she liked it. Shawn could tell that this dog will have one hell of a bond with her.

"I see you two connected already," Shawn said as he walked in the room.

"What are you going to name her?" He pet the little dog's head. He stood right next to Jenny and felt her head lay on his chest.

"I don't know yet," she said, wondering what name could possibly contain the cuteness that's laying in her arms.

"How about smiley?" Shawn paused, "Since she didn't stop smiling since he got out of that cage," he explained.

"You're horrible at this," she immediately refused.

"Offended but understandable." He let the puppy smell his hand.

"Katy," she said, "She wanted to name our dog after herself so that she could walk around with K-Junior," Jenny faked a smile barely holding back tears. It's been a month but the wound was still fresh.

"I am sure she would love that," Shawn said. Katy jumped on Jenny's face and licked it turning her fake smiles to real smiles, laughs, ones that you couldn't help but feel happy for hearing them. "Well, it looks like she likes the name," Shawn laughed mid-sentence.
"You like that name?" She pet Katy's head calming her down.

"Ok, tonight?" Shawn asked Jenny once again.

"Definitely," she reassured him. He smiled and kissed her cheek, then he pet Katy, aka K-Junior a little too hard before he walked out, leaving her alone with her new friend.
