Chapter 7

Max pov
(Currently being mind probed.)

"Agh! Would you stop that? Your not going to get anything from me!" I state as he pulls the mind probe off my head. "I will get those codes captain. Wether you cooperate or not." He states. "Remus, you will never get those codes." I snap at him. "And if your right about that, you won't have to worry about living much longer. Guards take her." He says. When we walk out the door (more like being dragged out...), I hear something in my head, like a whisper. It was Julian, and he was here to find me. I get taken down various hallways back to a area I don't recognize, "New cell, get in." The guard says. I look around, still standing my ground. 'Come on Julian!' I hiss in my mind hoping he will hear it. I guess he does because soon I head weapons fire, lots of it. I head but the guard holding me with my food arm and make a brake for it. Only to be grabbed shortly afterwards by Remus himself. "Did you really think you were going to escape?" He asks holding my bad arm and aiming a weapon at Julian, Clara....and River? I was surprised she was here. "Let her go." Julian states pointing a phaser rifle at the both of us. "Shoot Julian. It's worth taking me out along with him." I state. Remus grips my arm tighter and holds me close to him as a shield. I bite my lip holding back a scream. "If you kill me you will kill her doctor." Remus says coldly. "I'm not aiming at her." Julian states. That's when he fires, hitting...Remus, right in the shoulder. I drop to the ground and scramble to get back up. Clara and River went off to find Spock and the others I told them about. "You okay?" Julian asks looking me in the eyes and talking very softly. "No." I say telling him the truth. "Come on, you will be." He says smiling slightly and helping me back to the main level where the TARDIS was located. "What did you do to the TARDIS?" I ask Clara and Julian when we get back inside it. "Well. I was trying to contact River." Clara says. "I didn't touch anything." Julian says raising his hands up in surrender. I lean on the console heavily and then start fixing what Clara has messed up. "River why didn't you fix this?" I ask looking at a button that would be the shields. "I didn't see it off.." She says. I shrug, then start the sequence of buttons and numbers that will get us home. "And! We're-" I cut myself off and drop dead silent. I motion for everyone to shut up. "What's the matter?" Vala asks. She and Spock came along with us, the rest of the prisoners we just set free. "Shh!" I say hissing at her loudly. "Julian, phaser." I state. He reluctantly hands it over, and I go off in search of what I think is an intruder. "How'd he get it?" Clara asks. "In-tru-da-window?" Vala says jokingly. I glare at her and then head over to the side of the TARDIS where the Doctor keeps the main power cells. "Romulans can cloak themselves. Make us..." I stop in my tracks. "This isn't real." I state. They all look at me as there faces turn into Romulans. I close my eyes and wake up back in my cell, gasping for air. Julian didn't rescue me, I was still trapped, everything after me going to my cell was not real. It was a big illusion of my mind because of that probe. It had messed with my mind, the one thing the Romulans wanted to happen. But I knew Julian had to be here, he just hasn't rescued me yet. Yeah, that had to be the case, and it was up to me to help them.

"Alright, help me up, I need to get out of this cell." I state to Vala. "You need to rest, you were out cold for a good 5 hours!" She states. "And now I'm awake, hence the fact that we need to get out of here." I say snapping at her. "Alright alright Mrs. Moody." She says grabbing something from behind her. "What's that?" I ask sitting up and holding my head in my hand. "I hate Romulan mind probes." I mutter. "Say that 3 times." Vala says chuckling. "Just give me that thing in your hand." I state annoyed. "Here." She says handing what I realize is now a small Romulan sensor scanner. "Your going to need this, but since your a tech genius and I trust you, I think you could turn it into something else." She says. "Your right, I can." I say smiling and fiddling with the calibrations. "This should work now as a door opener, if I correctly hacked into the Talshear Database right...." I say trailing off. "Man you really are a nerd." She mutters. I glare at her and she says "Sorry, habit."

"Now, get ready, I'm going to open it." I state. She holds up her hands and then grabs a metal bar that was a part of her bed. "And...got it." I hiss at her. The door opens and I see someone jump down..from the ceiling? "Max!" Clara says. Vala goes to hit her over the head but I stop her, sadly with my bad arm, I wince and then throw the metal rod on the ground. "Lets get going. Unless all of you are another figment of my dang imagination. Which then, I'm not going anywhere." I state. Julian drops down from the ceiling next and asks "Why wouldn't we be real?"

"Well, I've always had trust issues but, recently let's just say they went up a lot more." I state. "Come on, this is real. This isn't some Romulan trick, this is me, right here saving your butt." He says. "Now that is definitely Julian." I say smiling. "Got any weapons?" I ask. River drops just her head down from the hatch in the ceiling and says "Yes, we need to get going. There are Romulans everywhere. Any chance you saw the Doctor?" She asks. "No, but I think I know where to find him. But...give me a minute guys. I have a friend to rescue as well. I owe him one..maybe a few favors." I say jogging off. "Now, where are you Spock, just talk to me. Come on, I know you can hear me." I say talking to myself. "I am right here Captain." I hear someone say from behind me. "Spock." I say. "Indeed it is I." He says. "Well, now I know this is real, I'm going to get you out of here. Okay?" I say. I use the device to unlock the door, that's when I hear foot steps coming our way. "Stay here. I'll find out what's going on." I say. "I am coming with you." He states. I glare at him and then hold my phaser up in front of me. Thank you Julian for bringing an extra one. That's when we turn the corner to find six Talshear guards standing in our way. I curse, very loudly. Spock looks over at me and raises his eyebrow. "Hi guys, how's it going? Long time no see." I say to the guards. They start shooting, "I take all that back now." I mutter. "About what?" He asks "About getting out of here." I say. I run forward and shoot three of the guards, take down two more in combat, and now I am on the last one. That's when I hear a phaser go off and the guard drops in front of me. "Sorry to cut your revenge short. But we need to get going." River says. I nod and then head off to the TARDIS with them.
