Pretty soon the Doctor starts to glow. In minutes he was engulfed in a gold light that probably could be seen from a 100 light years away. "Julian, get back." I state grabbing his arm. He nods and gets near me. "You know how the Doctor told us there was that sort of shield up making it impossible for Timelords to escape?" Julian whispers to me. "Yeah? Why?" I ask him looking over at the Doctor. His transformation was almost complete. "Well. How did we get out? Why weren't you and the Doctor stuck?" He asks. "I-" I start to say, but the Doctor had finished and was looking around. The Doctor had grey hair, big bushy eyebrows and a very confused look on his face. "KIDNEYS!" He states in a thick Scottish accent. "I don't like the color." He adds. "Of....our kidneys?" Julian asks confused. "Where am I? And why am I Scottish, I'm talking with a Scottish accent...well that's new...." The Doctor says rambling on. "Doctor. Why don't you sit down? We are going to head back to my ship." I state reassuring him. "Why's everything all fuzzy? You are going in and out of focus." He says staring at Julian and I. Then he passes out. Julian catches him before he hits the floor. "Well. I wish he'd had listened to me about sitting down....." I mutter. I sit in my seat and then set a new heading for the last known coordinates of the Enterprise. "Now what were you saying about the field generator?" Julian asks me. "Oh. I was going to say I don't know. But my best guess is that the Doctor lied and there never really was one. Well....not the shield anyways. But there was something keeping the Doctor from healing himself and regenerating which I can only assume is the thing he told me about in the beginning." I say typing commands on the console. "But why?" Julian asks confused. "Rule 1. The Doctor lies." I say. "Now. We should reach the Enterprise in 3 hours but I don't know what we are going to do when we get there.  Because, first off. I broke several Star Fleet regulations and second you did to." I say. "I'm prepared for the consequences." Julian says checking over the Doctor again. "Your not going to understand the readings. Here. Take the helm. I'll look after him." I say. He nods and we switch places.  We arrive at the last known coordinates of the Enterprise. Thankfully the ship had not moved. "Captain. It's good to have you back." Commander Nog says over the coms. "It's good to be back Commander. Is there something you want to tell me?" I ask. "No sir. We can talk when you get on board safely with the Doctor and Dr. Bashir. Nog out." He says. I dock the shuttle in shuttle bay 4 and then help Julian carry the Doctor. I hear the door open and Clara comes running into the shuttle bay. "You have the Doctor?!" She says excitedly. "Yes but....-" I start to say but it was to late. She looked at the Doctor and realized he had regenerated. She'd never seen the Doctor regenerate. I wasn't even sure she'd heard what regeneration was about....."Julian can you take the Doctor down to the infirmary?" I ask. He nods and walks off carrying the Doctor. "Clara. It's going to be okay. Come with me." I say guiding her to the hallway and to the turbo lift. "No it's not going to be ok! He's not the same! That isn't the Doctor!" She pleads. "Clara shhhh. I'll explain it as soon as we get up to the bridge and into my office." I say. I didn't know how I was going to explain Gallifreyan biology to her while also needing to explain why I stole the runabout with Commander Nog. "Captain on the bridge." Nog says. "May I speak with you in my office?" I ask him. He nods and we head inside. "Alright. Clara. I'm going to explain what happened first. Then I need to talk to Commander Nog. Then I'll explain more to you about the Doctor alright?" I ask. She nods, looking around the room slightly trying to not think about the Doctor. 30 minutes later I had informed both Clara and Nog of what went on while on Kata IV aka hell. "Now what I want to know is why I'm not being thrown in the brig." I state to Nog. "I know you would disapprove of this but I took he liberty of talking with Admiral Janeway and apprised her of our situation. After talking it over she pulled some strings and managed to dismiss the situation all together." Nog said smiling. My straightforward face turned to a smile. "Your right. I wouldn't approve, and you didn't have to do that for me Nog. I owe you one." I say sincerely. "Anytime Captain." He says to me. "Can I see him?" Clara asks. "The Doctor." She adds. "Very well. Commander your dismissed. I'll be in the infirmary if you need me." I say. He walks out and I head to the turbo lift once more with Clara. By reading her mind I could tell she was in shock over the whole ordeal. I would be to if I wasn't a Timelord or didn't know all about Timelord biology. I walk in to the Doctor standing next to a bed in the infirmary. "I don't understand! Who are you?" The Doctor asks Julian very confused. "And who are you two?!" He asks seeing us walk in. Clara looked terrified, and I was between them. I sigh and then leave the two to talk. "How is he?" I ask Julian. "Well. From a medical stand point he's completely healthy, but from a mental point of view he's...well....insane." Julian states simply. "That's a normal part of the regeneration process. It should pass within the next 48 hours. I just got lucky when I regenerated. Everyone regeneration different." I point out. "Alright. You should get some rest. That's an order." He says. "Yes sir...." I mutter walking off. I head to my quarters and change into PJs. Porthos greets me with a wag of his tail and a happy bark. "I missed you too buddy. But I'm beat. I'll play fetch tomorrow okay?" I say petting him. He runs off to his doggy bed and lays down. "Good boy. Night." I say getting into bed and rolling onto my stomach. I pass out almost instantly.
