Chapter Twenty Nine

James

Harrison was slowly recovering from the feeling of guilt. He'll still have his moments but at the same time we all have those
But I think he's starting to believe us when it comes to him not being the reason behind all of this

There is only one person to blame and if I ever get my hands on him I swear to god, he'll regret all of it

Sienna and I were sat in our flat while Harrison was at school, I quite like these kind of mornings. It gave Sienna and I time to bond or what not
She starts school next year and I don't think I'm ready for that

"Daddy! Come have tea with us" Sienna sung pulling me by the hand until I was risen to my feet following her back to her room
As soon as we walked in I chuckled at the sight, Sienna had her teddies sat around in a circle with tea cups in front of them. The cups were empty thankfully

"Not there Daddy. That's Mummy's seat" Sienna said as I attempted to take a seat between her Bunny and her Elephant
"Mummy loved Bugs and Ellie, so that's her seat. You can sit next to Coco and Milo" She said pointing to her Cow and Mouse stuffed animal
I'll give Sienna props for her creativity, it's always been something special, she can create any sort of scenario in her head and will follow through with it until it truly happens

The moment Sienna went to hand me a cup from her pile, we were interrupted by some very frantic knocking on the door
"Who is that? They aren't invited for tea daddy" Sienna pouted making me chuckle placing a kiss on the top of her head
"Okay Princess, let me go and tell them to go yeah?" I asked making Sienna nod

I honestly had no idea who it could possibly be. Nobody I knew were planning on coming over today. Dad and Mum are out of town for the week, the boys are working. Michelle is doing some sort of work and Piper should be in school

But that is not where Piper was..

As soon as I opened the door a panicked but hopeful Piper
She frantically looked around before her eyes landed on me while I gave her the most concerning look I think I ever have
I've always taken anything Piper has done with a pinch of salt and never asked questions
But she's being weirder then usual

"Piper, if you are on something please don't come around here while the ki-" I started before she shot me a dagger making it known I was well off the mark

"If I tell you something. You can't be mad" She warned me
"What is it with everything thinking I'm going to be mad" I said rolling my eyes
"I'm serious James" She continued to whine until I nodded handing her a bottle of water from the fridge

"Daddy!" Sienna called from her room
"I'll be there in a minute sweetheart, I'm just talking to Auntie Piper" I called back before Sienna's head poked out of her room where she offered Piper a sweet smile
"Auntie Piper! Do you want to stay for the tea party? You can sit next to Mr Squiggles again!" Sienna gushed making Piper smile with a nod
"Anything you want honey" She said before Sienna skipped off again

With Sienna out of the room my attention turned back to Piper who still had some explaining to do

"So what am I going to be mad at?" I asked
"Jamesss" Piper panicked
"Chill pipesqueak, just tell me would you" I asked as we walked over to the sofa

I had seen Piper nervous over a lot of things but this seemed very different. She was almost terrified to say the wrong word and that along did not sit right with me

"When Riley came back, I didn't want her to go again" She said earning a nod from me
"So I did something, I didn't think anything of it to begin with because she wasn't supposed to go again" She reminded me
"What did you do Piper?" I asked curiously
"What any concerned future sister in law would do!!" She exclaimed making me raise a brow to her

"Future sister in law? Really Pipes?" I chuckled making her nudge me
"I'm serious" She said as I controlled my laughter
"Alright alright, what did you do" I asked

"I put something in Riley's purse last time I came over. I didn't think anything of it and when she did leave so went so far that I lost the signal" She mumbled
"Signal? What are you talking about Piper?" I continued to ask

"You guys all have the app and I knew that Riley would download it! So I put a tracker in her bag! She wouldn't have ever noticed it but-" She explained before cutting herself off

"But? But what Piper?" I exclaimed making her look. At me terrified again
"But James.. The tracker turned back on last night, I haven't been able to get a signal on it yet because of She isn't close enough but it turned back on and is searching for a signal" She said making me eyes widen

"Let me get this right Piper, you have a tracker on Riley. The same Riley we've been searching for for 2 years and you never thought to mention it!" I asked
"You promised you wouldn't get mad!" Piper said stomping her foot

I took a deep breath in before turning to look at Piper
"I'm not mad Piper, I just-" I started before sighing leaning back against the sofa
" Why wouldn't you tell Dad and I?" I asked
"For starters, Dad thinks I am crazy when it comes to this tracking bullshit" She muttered under her breath
"And the tracker stopped working by the time you came over that morning with Harrison and Sienna" She explained

"Do you really think I would keep this from you James? I know how much her being gone is affecting you and the kids! I might be that annoying little sister but I wouldn't keep this from you but I didn't want your hopes up on a dead tracker" She said making me sigh and nod

"If you get a signal can you please tell me Piper. Harrison already believes he saw Riley around recently so she could still easily be in this town" I said making Piper look at me hesitantly
"Please tell me you're playing a sick joke on me right now?" She asked but I shook my head
"He broke down into floods of tears thinking he would be in trouble for scaring her away" I explained

"No no James you don't understand. I was convinced that I had seen Riley the other day but pegged it that I was imagining things" She whispered

"What? Where?" I asked
"Right outside your flat. It was when I left last Thursday to go to class" She said making my breath hitch

That day the day after Harrison had seen her, it had to have been here. I really do not have any other explanation right now..
