Kail and Luke have been hanging out with us more over the past few years. Actually, since Kails' 18th birthday. "Hey, Kail, where did you come from?" I asked. "I came to wish you a happy birthday. I came up while this tool was wishing you a happy birthday, " he said as he pointed at Rick. Rick took that as his queue to leave, so he did. "Why are you guys standing there looking shocked? You all know he cheated on me and that we have been over, " I state. "Yes, sis, we did; we just didn't know how savage you were," Danny laughed. "Look, there are a lot of things that can be forgiven, but cheating is not one of them," I state. "Never?" asked Tyson. "Never," I replied. "If you truly love someone or just want to be with someone, then you don't cheat on them. When you cheat, it makes the one you're supposed to love to think something is wrong with them, or you wouldn't have cheated. It makes them feel unwanted. Besides, only a fool accepts a weak-ass apology and takes the cheater back, and last I checked, I'm no fool, " I reply. "Touche," Kail replies. "Besides, cheating is one of the worst forms of betrayal there is," I added.

I'm having a great time at my party. Right now, I'm dancing with Kail. "Hey, Kail, are you ok?" I ask. "You seem different since your birthday," I add. "Yeah, I'm ok, or at least I will be," he replies. "What do you mean?" I ask. "I found my mate," he said, and before I could congratulate him, he added, "She rejected me." I'm floored. "What? Why? " I ask. "She wants to be Luna, not a beta female," he replies. I look at him and see him staring at Haze and Amber in the corner, making out.

"Oh my God, Kail, I'm so sorry. Does Haze know she is your mate? " I ask. "Yes, he does, and he doesn't care. That's why Luke and I have distanced ourselves from him," he replies. "God, Kail, I'm so sorry. What's Haze going to do when he finds his mate? " I ask. "He already knows who his mate is, and he plans on rejecting her," he replied. "Does she know?" I asked, feeling my heart break for his mate. "No, she doesn't, not yet."

I stand there and look over at the corner, and Haze is glaring at me. I look back at Kail, and he gives me an apologetic look. "Kail, why are you telling me this?" I ask. I have a feeling I know why. "You're his mate, Skylar. I wasn't going to tell you, but he plans to reject you tonight in front of everyone. I don't want you to be blindsided like I was. I also don't want you to be embarrassed and hurt at your birthday party. I'm so sorry to tell you this. I just want you to be prepared, " he states.

I'm shocked. This is the last thing I was expecting today. Why would the moon goddess mate me with Haze? He is a world-class asshole. "I'm kinda glad he is rejecting me," I smile. Kail looks at me and smiles. "Why?" he asks. "Because he is an asshole and because now I can do this," I say before I kiss Kail. He stiffens up at first, then relaxes and kisses me back. I hear the growl but don't care. I break the kiss. "This will show them we aren't the ones to be fucked with. If your game, I'm willing to put on one hell of a show tonight. Just tonight, though, then we can be heartbroken tomorrow," I state. "I'm game," he replies, not even caring what my plan is.

Suddenly, I'm being pulled by my arm, and I feel the sparks, damn it. "Happy Birthday, Skylar." Haze growls. "Yep, thanks," I reply. I knew the minute he touched me that he was my mate, but looking into his eyes only solidified it. "Everyone listen up," Haze yells. Everyone stopped what they were doing. The music stops, and everyone is giving us their full attention. I look over at Amber and see her smirk. This bitch thinks she won.

"I, Alpha Haze Williams reject Skylar Shaw as my mate and Luna," he smirks. I feel the rip in our bond, and it hurts, but I will never show him that. "I, Skylar Shaw, accept Alpha Haze Williams' rejection to be his mate and Luna," I state. Both of us grab our chests. "No! What are you doing?" Alpha Theo shouts. "I can't stand her, and I will not be mated to a bitch I can't stand. Someone who can't even satisfy her man and keep him," he says with a laugh. "Well, obviously, you aren't pleasing Amber either because he cheated on me with her," I laugh. He growls at me. Guess he didn't like what I said.

"Son, you can't reject her," Alpha Theo says through gritted teeth. "It's too late. I just did. I'm going to be the alpha. I can do whatever the fuck I want, and I love Amber. She is pregnant with my baby. I plan on marking her tonight and making her my Luna," Haze said with a smirk. "You will not mark her and make her luna until her baby is born, and we do a DNA test to prove it's yours," Alpha Theo says with an alpha order.

I look at Kail and see the hurt on his face. I'm over this whole thing. "Is there anything else?" I ask. "What?" Haze asks. "Is there anything else, or can I return to my party and making out with Kail?" I ask. Haze growls, "Do whatever you fucking want." "Oh, I plan to," I say as I smile at Kail. I turn around and grab Kail's hand and walk away with him.

Haze's POV
Today is my 18th birthday, and it has been one big letdown. I'm not the silver wolf like I thought I was. I also discovered that the last person I wanted as my mate is indeed my fucking mate. Why does Skylar have to be my mate? I can't stand her, and she hates me. She just can't be, damn it. I'm sticking to my plans, and I'm going to reject her. "You can't reject my sister," Luke says while clutching his fists. He is one of my best friends, but I don't care that she is his sister. "I can, and I am. I will reject her on her 18th birthday, " I reply. Luke growls and walks away.

Amber walks up to me and kisses me. "Hey baby, I'm horny," she says as she kisses my neck. I growl. "Go wait for me in my room. I'll be there in a minute, " I reply. I see Kail grind his teeth and clench his fists. "What's your problem, dude?" I ask. "Do you really want to know?" he asks. "Well, yeah, of course, or I wouldn't have asked," I replied. "Amber is my mate, and she rejected me because she wants to be Luna," he says while grinding his teeth. Well, shit, that was not what I was expecting to hear.
