Betrayed and Broken

Skylar's POV
After the women bathed me and dressed me, I was brought down to a dining room. I was seated in a chair and strapped to it with what looked like a seat belt. "You look so beautiful," Reid says as he walks in. He walks up to me and kisses my lips. God, I wish I could at least open my mouth so I could bite his fucking lips off. "Im going to kill him," Luna growls in my head. Reid goes and sits in a chair next to me. "Im starving. Are you hungry?" he asks. "Let's eat," he says as he pulls his chair closer to me. A woman brings out a plate and a bowl. She sets the bowl before me and the plate in front of him. He repositions my head and brings the spoon to my mouth. "It's clam chowder. I hope you like it, " he says as he gives me a bite. He wipes my mouth with a smile. "It's good, right?" he asks. He proceeds to feed me the whole bowl. I can't even refuse any of it. He then takes a straw and starts giving me water. When he is done, he has a man bring me to a room for me to get cleaned up and bring me back to the dining room.

"I bet you're wondering why you're here," he says with a smile. "Let me tell you a story. This is about a young Alpha whose father was very hard on him. He had to be the best. His father would not settle for anything less than the best. When the young alpha went to Alpha training, his father warned him that if he were not the best in his class, then he would be thrown into a cell and severally beaten. The young alpha tried very hard to be the best, but he wasn't. There was another Alpha there that beat him at everything. The young alpha hated losing to the other alpha. The young alpha didn't want to suffer another of his father's famous beatings.

Alpha training was miserable for the young alpha until, one day; he met a girl. The young alpha fell for said girl. The other alpha saw how interested the young alpha was in said girl, so he pursued her. He would intentionally bring the girl to his room that was next to the young alphas and fuck said girl. For two weeks, the young Alpha had to listen to the girl he fell for have sex with another man. It tore him up inside. He was losing his mind.

After two weeks, the other alpha broke up with said girl breaking her heart. The young alpha tried to console her, but she wanted nothing to do with him, which broke his heart. He tried even harder to beat the other alpha but couldn't. One day the academy was attacked by rogues. We were all fighting. I hear said girl scream the other alphas' name and knock him to the ground. The young alpha then watched said girl get her throat ripped out. The young alpha attacked and killed the wolf. When the young alpha was done he went to her. As she took her last breath, a pain like no other shot through his body. He fell to the ground in excruciating pain. That's when the young alpha discovered that said girl was his mate.

He swore he would get revenge. He would take his mate from him one day. When the young alpha returned home, he was placed in a cell and beaten severely every day for a month because he was not the best. The young alpha has trained vigorously since that day. He was preparing for his revenge. He got the opportunity when a young woman came asking for help to avenge her sister's death. And that's how we are here today, " he says as he paces back and forth.

I watched him as he told me his story. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who is who in his story. I saw the anger in his eyes anytime he spoke of his father and the hurt when he talked about the girl. I also saw the pure hatred he has for Haze in his eyes. Im not going to lie his story broke my heart. Alphas are sent for training from the age of 12 to 15. They were all so young. He suffered a lot at a young age. I couldn't imagine losing my mate at such a young age. I feel for him. He has been handed the shit end of the stick, but it doesn't make it ok for him to do what he has been doing. I knew Haze had changed when he came back from training but I never thought anything like this had happened. My heart breaks for him. Yes, he was an asshole, but he has changed; he isn't that asshole anymore.

"Can you guess who is who in my story?" Reid asked. "I'm sure you have, but just in case you haven't. I'm the young alpha, Haze is the other alpha, and Cindy was the girl he used and tossed aside when he was done. Cindy was meant to be mine, and he ruined her and then took her from me. She was so beautiful. She had long curly golden blond hair with the most mesmerizing green eyes. She had a sprinkle of freckles over her nose, and she had a heart-shaped birthmark on her left shoulder. She was perfect. She was sweet and innocent until he got his hands on her, " he growled.

I've heard of the infamous alpha Reid of the blood wolf pack. When he was 15, he killed his father, becoming the alpha. His pack has fought and destroyed several smaller packs in his area. After he kills the alpha, he sets the pack on fire. Taking all survivors to his pack where they are made to train and fight. Those who can't train and fight must serve any way he sees fit. He is ruthless and a monster. He chose to become this person. He could have gone another route, but he didn't, so my pity only goes so far.

"You know, Skylar, I love the fact that you are a silver wolf. You will give me strong pups. The lincomycin works for 12 hours, so when the time is up. You will be kept in a reinforced cell that you will not be able to break out of. The time you remain in the cell will be up to you. I really don't want to drug you or force you into it but I will if I have to. Just so you know, my men are regrouping and will be attacking your pack again first thing in the morning. Haze will die tomorrow, and I will be free to mark you as my own, " he says with a smirk.

That's what he thinks. I know Haze is close. I can feel him. He must have received my images. I wanted to have him see through my eyes, but it was too risky. I couldn't risk taking a chance on him knowing I was linking anyone. When I sent images to Haze, I hid it behind blinks so he couldn't tell. Suddenly, I got an image of the house. I blink so he can't see the gloss over my eyes for that split second. He is here. Goddess please watch over them. We don't need any more casualties.

I send an image of Reid to Haze. I feel him trying to link me, so I close my eyes. "I'm here, baby. Im coming for you," he links me. "I know. I love you. Try not to link me, though. I don't want him to catch on. I love you, " I link back. "I love you too," he replies, then cuts the link. I feel some tears of joy slip from my eyes.

"What's the matter?" Reid asks as he walks back to me. "Look, I'll make his death a fast one. I promise he won't suffer, " Reid says as he wipes my tears. He thinks Im crying because he thinks he is going to kill Haze. It's ok, though he can keep thinking that. He is the one that will die today, not Haze. Kail will be avenged, and the world be rid of one sick fuck.
