Betrayed and Broken

Skylar's POV
I had shifted back to give Luna a break. I was killing wolves left and right. I ripped so many hearts and throats out that I was covered in blood. As I was ripping the heart out of a wolf, another wolf clawed my side. I turned around to kill him, and he took off running. I ran after him. When I caught up to him, I jumped on his back and wrapped my arms around his neck, and twisted it, breaking his neck. When I stood up, I was surrounded by wolves. I got into my fighting stance when I heard a growl. I looked and saw Kail taking down a wolf. Then I saw Lewis fighting two wolves.

I start fighting a wolf when I feel a prick in my arm. I turned to see a man standing there with a needle. The next thing I know, I'm lying on the ground, unable to move my body. "Since you're a silver wolf, wolfsbane and silver don't affect you, this, my dear, is lincomycin. It paralyzes your body but doesn't knock you out, " he says with a smile. "Get away from her." I hear Kail scream, and then I hear fighting. The man picks me up bridal style and faces me to see what's happening. Lewis is on the ground, not moving.

Two guys drag Kail over to us and force him to his knees. "Let her go, Reid," Kail growls. "And why would I do that?" Reid replies. Kail starts fighting the guys when Reid sits me down, then extends his claws and rips open Kails' throat. Kail grabs his neck. He looks at me with tears in his eyes. I'm sorry, he says before his body falls to the ground. I forgive you. I link him, but I don't know if he got it. I try screaming, but nothing comes out of my mouth. I feel tears slide down my cheek.

Reid picks me back up and sets me in the back seat of his car. He gets in the car next to me. "Say goodbye, princess," he says with a smile, then tells the driver to drive. I can't believe Kail is dead. I know he had some issues recently, but he really was a great guy. Some of my happiest memories are with him. No matter what has happened, he was still there for me. He gave his life trying to save me. I hate this. He didn't have to die. My heart breaks for him and his family. Goddess, please take care of Kail and let him know I forgive him and I'm sorry. I feel the tears streaming down my face. "Why the tears, sweetheart?" Reid asks with a laugh. I don't know who this guy is, but I will kill him.

I kept trying to link Haze but kept getting nothing. I have to keep trying. Any time we passed a street sign, I sent the image to Haze. I really hope he is getting them. We had never tried this long distance. When we pull up to a house, I send the image to Haze. "We are home, my sweet," Reid says with a smile. He gets out of the car and comes around and picks me up, and brings me into the house. He hands me over to a man. "Get her cleaned up," he orders. "Yes, Alpha," the man replies. He takes me to a room and then takes me into the bathroom, where three women are waiting. "Clean her up and get her dressed," he says as he sets me in a bathtub full of water, then he walks out.

Kail's POV
It's time for Skylar's party. "Did you get your present?" Nicole asked. I retrieved the box from my desk and showed her. "It's a heart-shaped locket with Skylar's name on it. Inside the locket is wolfsbane. She will put it on, and the wolfsbane will slowly enter her system, weakening her. It should take a day or 2 to fully work. Then I'll be able to take her away from here, " I reply. "Cute," she replied. "All right, then let's get this shit show started," she said with a smile.

When I walked into her backyard, I saw Skylar and Haze sitting next to each other at a picnic table. Storm growls. "Calm down. We will have her back in no time." I reassure him. "We better, or I will never talk to you again," he growls.

When I walked up to the table, the last thing I thought she would ever say, she said. She doesn't love me anymore. My heart is breaking. She told me to move on. How can I? My heart belongs to her. No, I don't believe it. I won't. What we had and have is special. She just has to remember who we used to be. She will remember how much she loves me.

"Your plans not going so well, is it?" Nicole said with a smile. "It will," I growled. "They have been gone for almost 2 hours. What do you think they are doing?" she laughs. "Fuck you, Nicole she wouldn't do that to me," I replied. "Oh, but she would," Nicole said with a laugh as she pointed to the yard's entrance. I looked over, and it felt like my heart was just ripped out of my chest. Skylar and Haze are both marked.

I am so pissed. I was about to fight Haze when Nicole shot off the flair. What the fuck. This was not part of the plan. When I looked around and saw we were surrounded I knew I fucked up by conspiring with Nicole. I just wanted Skylar I didn't want anyone to get hurt. She has brought a fight to our pack. When I looked back over, Skylar shifted. She is a silver wolf what the hell. She rips Nicole to shreds. I turn around and see the people running for the shelter and our warriors fighting. I shifted and joined the fight.

I had three wolves on me when Haze, who is also now a silver wolf, came over and helped me. I nodded my thank you to Haze, and he nodded back. I am exhausted. We have been fighting for a while, but we are winning. I had just gotten done ripping a throat out when I noticed Skylar, not Luna, run after a wolf. I shifted back and started yelling her name. Lewis is next to me. "Lewis, come with me," I say as I run in Skylars' direction. I follow her scent, and when we find her, she is surrounded by 7 wolves.

I don't even hesitate. I start fighting. Lewis is also fighting. I am fighting two wolves when I see Reid stick something in Skylars' arm. Then I see her fall to the ground, not moving. I lose it. I start to rip into the wolf on my right and pull his heart out. Once he's down, I turn and break the other wolf's neck. I look over and see Lewis go down. I started to run towards Skylar when I was hit from behind and knocked to the ground. I feel a pinch in my neck. I try to fight, but I have no strength. Damn it, wolfsbane. Three guys start beating the crap out of me. 2 guys then pick me up and drag me over to Reid.

Reid is holding a limp Skylar. I'm forced down onto my knees. "Let her go, Reid," I growled. "And why would I do that?" Reid replies with a cocky smile. I can't let him take her. I just can't. I punch the guy to my left in the face and headbutt the guy behind me, trying to hold me down. When I stand up, I feel something go across my neck. I grab my neck and know my neck has been ripped open, and I feel tears stream down my face. I look over at Skylar and see tears falling down her cheeks. I'm sorry I managed to say before falling back. I forgive you. I hear Skylar cry through the link.

She forgives me. What have I done? Goddess, please forgive me. I lay there waiting for death. When I hear Scott yell to Haze. Haze comes over to me and takes my hand. "Stay with me, Kail, please stay with me". Do I see tears in his eyes? "Reid took her. I, I tried to stop him. Tell her I'm sorry and I love her," I say as I start coughing up blood. "You tell her yourself," Haze replies through his tears. I realize now that I turned my back on my best friend. What happened to me to us? "I'm sorry. I really am. Do right by her. She deserves to be happy," I say through shallow breaths. "I will, I promise. I'll make sure she is happy. I'm so sorry for everything with Amber, and now Skylar, I really am, " he replies through his tears.  "I love you, man," Haze says as he continues to cry. I feel myself fading. Goddess, please help Haze save Skylar and protect her. "I love you too," I barely manage to say as everything starts to fade. I love you, Skylar.
