Haze's POV
When Mrs. Shaw called me and said, Skylar was having a panic attack. I went straight there. I walked into her room and gasped when I saw her. I swear my heart stopped for a split second. She looked beautiful. What am I saying? She always looks gorgeous. I love the way her face lights up when she sees me, and that smile takes my breath away every single time she blesses me with it. I love knowing that she is happy to see me now instead of dreading my presence. Things between us have changed so much, and I am so grateful for that.

I loved her reaction to the necklace. I think she really does love it. When I put the necklace on her, I couldn't resist kissing her neck. The tingles that shot through my body as my lips touched her skin were amazing. I feel the tingles every time we touch, and I hope that means our bond is repairing. I'd give anything to have this beautiful, amazingly strong woman as my mate and Luna. I swear I will never want anyone as much as I want her. She is everything to me, and I just hope she feels at least a little of what I feel.

She cried, reading my letter. I wanted to tell her how much I love her in the letter, but I didn't. I didn't want to ruin another birthday if she doesn't feel the same. When she said I was a great person who had gotten lost for a little bit, it made me feel relieved. She sees I'm not the same person, and that gives me hope. I didn't mean to tell her I loved her it just slipped out. When she said she loved me too, I swear to God my heart stopped. It just stopped. If Mrs. Shaw didn't walk in. I would probably have kissed Skylar. Everything in me wanted to kiss her, so I'm grateful Mrs. Shaw walked in.

When she walked out of the bathroom with her hair in a ponytail, I couldn't help but smile at the thought of my mark on that beautiful sexy neck of hers. "Are you ready?" I asked as I kissed her cheek. "You promise to stay with me?" she asked nervously. I took her hand in mine, loving the way her hand fit so perfectly in mine. "I promise I will not leave your side," I replied with a smile. We walked out to the party hand in hand. It was an amazing moment for me. I never would have thought we would be here. I thought she would hate me forever.

We are currently at Skylars' birthday party. We are sitting at the table talking when Kail comes up. "Happy Birthday, baby," he says as he hands her a box. Skylar looks up at him like he is crazy. "I miss you so much, baby," Kail says as he sits down across from her. Sky turns and looks at me. She links me, "Is he serious right now?"I think his love turned into an obsession, Skylar. You have to be careful around him, " I reply. She turns back and looks at Kail. "Don't call me baby," she growls. "Please talk to me? Please, I'm begging you, " Kail pleads. "I've told you several times to stay away from me," she replies.

"Why does he get to be by you? He threw you away like you were nothing, " he yelled. I stood up and growled. I'm about to kill this piece of shit. Sky puts her hand on my arm and tugs me back down to sit beside her. "Kail, you're right he did, but he has come a long way from that day. He has helped me so much. He has been here for me. He saved my life, and he has never told me he loved me and then cheated on me, " she replied.

"I said I was sorry," Kail yelled. "It's been eight months, Kail. Your sorries don't mean shit to me. It's time you moved on, " she said with a smile. "I can't move on, Skylar. I love you, " he cried. "Give it time that love will fade. Mine did, " she replied. Kail looked at her with so much pain in his eyes. She broke him with that last sentence. I kind of feel bad for the guy. "So you don't love me anymore?" Kail asked. "No, Kail, I don't," she replied. I couldn't help but smile at hearing her say that. "What are you smiling about? You think you're going to get my girl?" Kail growled at me. "Last I checked, she's not your girl," I growled back. "She is. She just has to remember how much we love each other and how things were when we were together, " Kail replied. "And how are you going to do that?" I asked. "You'll see," Kail said as he stood up and walked away.

Skylar looked at me. "I think you're right. It's obsession, not love, " she said with a hint of sadness. "Be careful around him. He has something planned," I say as I hold her hand and rub the back of her hand with my thumb. "I'm kind of afraid to open his gift," she says as she looks at the box. At that time, I saw Nicole walking by. "Hey Nicole," I yelled, stopping her in her tracks. "Yes, Alpha Haze?" she asked as she walked up to me. "I need you to open this for me," I replied. "What are you doing?" Sky links me. "I think her and Kail have something planned." I link back.

"What is it?" Nicole asked. "I don't know, that's why I'm asking you to open it," I replied. Nicole reached out and picked up the box. She opened it and set it back down. I looked inside, and there was a locket inside with a note.

"Thank you, Nicole; you can leave now," I say as I look at Sky. "Does this mean anything to you?" I ask her. "No," she replied. At that time, we both caught the scent of wolfsbane. "It's coming from the locket," she links me. "I know." I link her back. "Is he really trying to drug me after what has happened to me?" she links. "I think he wants to take you. What else would he drug you for ?"I link back. "Holy shit I think you're right," she links back. "Dave, can you meet me and Skylar, in my office?" I link, Dave. "Yes, Alpha," he replies. "Come on, Skylar, we are going to meet Dave in my office." I link her.

She stands up and takes my hand. I look down and see our fingers interlocked, and it's amazing. I feel the tingles instantly. I've been feeling them, but they are getting stronger. We walk hand in hand to my office. I know I must look like a dork with this cheesy ass smile plastered on my face, but I don't care. We enter my office, and I sit behind my desk. "Where do you want me to sit?" Skylar asks. "Wherever you want," I reply. "Anywhere I want?" she asked with a smile. "Yes, anywhere," I chuckle.

She walks over to me and pushes me back from the desk, and sits on my lap. "Are you comfortable?" I ask with a laugh. "Yes, very," she giggles. I pull her back into my chest and hug her. "You know there is no one else quite like you." I chuckle. "I'm one of a kind, baby," she replies with her cute giggle. "Yes, you definitely are," I replied as I put my face in her neck, smelling her delicious smell of vanilla. She giggles as I sniff her neck. "I love how you smell," I say into her neck. "Yeah? What do I smell like?" she asks. "Like vanilla," I reply. "Well, you smell like the forest after it rains," she replied. Are we actually flirting right now? God, I hope so.

The knock on my door pulls us out of our flirting. "Come in, Dave." I link him. My office is soundproof, so he can't hear me if I yell for him to come in. Dave walks in and smiles when he sees Sky sitting on my lap. "Dave, please close the door?" I ask. Dave closes the door and then comes sits in the chair in front of my desk. "Can I help you, Alpha?" he asks. "Dave, I asked you here because we have an issue. Kail is trying to drug Skylar. He gave her a locket with wolfsbane in it. We need to figure out what his intentions are," I state.

"Well, if he is trying to drug her, then I'd say he is planning on abducting her because he knows if he drugs her here and they stay here, he will get severely punished," Dave replied. "Why would he abduct me?" Sky asked. "Well, the only thing I can think of is to force his mark on you so you will have to be his mate and can't leave him," Dave replies. A growl escapes my throat. Skylar gasps. I feel her fear through our bond. I hug her to my chest. "Calm down. I'm not going to let him take you." I tell her while I rub circles on her back to get her to calm down. "What do we do?" she asks. "I have an idea," Dave replies. "What is it?" I ask. "Well, you guys may or may not like it," he replies.
