Part 14

"I was going to call you and ask to come here so you could meet them, but you came anyway. So perfect timing".

Jimin feels nerves all over his body. God he was normally fine with meeting parents but the fact that he knew these were his boyfriends parents made it worse, even if they didn't know themselves.

"It's lovely to meet you" Jimin addresses the pair, walking over a little closer before bowing politely.

Jungkook's mother chuckles and waves her hand about. "Don't you worry, the boys are all like family and sons to us, and since we feel we know so much about you already, you're already like a son to us".

Jimin can't help the blush that covers his whole face when he hears the words. It's almost like he can't look at either of them out of shyness. They look so proper, but at the same time really kind and warm.

"So you've spoken about me?" Jimin addresses Jungkook with a nervous chuckle.

"Sit, sit" his dad motions for Jimin to sit on the chair beside the couch. "Of course he has. He's been spilling on and on about what a great choreographer you are, which I fully believe since he also showed us videos".

Jimin just gets redder, "Jungkook..."

"We asked to see them" his mum adds with a smile. "And he told us how much of an amazing friend and support system you had been for him, and can I just thank you for that. Sometimes our Jungkook can get a little lonely. It's a hard job what he does, and I know he finds it hard to communicate and ask for help. So I have to thank you for being so kind to him"

"Of course, it's nothing. He does the same for me. You raised a wonderful man" Jimin tells them, finally being able to maintain eye-contact.

Both Jungkooks mum and dad look at each other proudly, and then ask Jimin about his he ended up at this job, about his life, his past, his hopes.

"Don't overwhelm him" Jungkook laughs out after a while, it seems like all Jimin was doing was answering their questions but Jimin sort of loved it. They seemed so lovely and it was great to get to know them too.

"Ey, he's fine. He's chatty like your father!"

Jimin chuckles, having gotten comfortable now, and happily replies to anything that is asked.

That is until...

"How long have you two been dating again?" Jungkook's father addresses Jimin.

The boys face drops in horror and his gaze flickers to Jungkook for a second, before going back to his dad.

"I'm sorry?"

"It's been a while now right?" his dad asks again, looking to Jungkook for help.

"What like...8-9 months or something?" Jungkook hums out.

"Wow, that's quite some time" his mum chuckles out.

Jimin is still in shock. His body feels tense, his palms are sweating and he doesn't know what to do.

"Y-You...he told-....he said that we'...?" but he gets cut off but Jungkooks dad who pats his knee.

"Why the expression! Of course he told us. Our son tells us everything, at least I hope he does. We were happy to know he's dating someone as good, and caring and hard working as you!"

Jungkook notices the expression on Jimin's face and can't help but furrow his brows. So he decides to add some context to the conversation.

"I told dad I was gay like, 5 years ago, and then told mum straight after. I didn't know how they'd react but honestly it couldn't have gone better"
