Lydia's POV
~~~
My dad cried when I showed him, he saw the bandage and I told him. He held me in his arms and we both cried, he told me how much he loved me and how he's always going to be here for me.
He is now driving me to Rachel's house. I never told him about us breaking up, we are still friends but I love her and she still loves me, it's just too much having her and then having everything that is going on, it will just drag her down with me.
I stare out of the window as the tears blur my vision, it's hurting a lot and I just feel lost.
We arrived.
We park up outside of the house and I am dressed in one of my hoodies and a pair of joggers and trainers. I squeeze my eyes shut as the tears disappeared and then we get out of the car.
"We broke up." I whisper but he didn't hear me, "Dad, we broke up."
"What? When?" He asked and I sigh.
"Today, at lunch. I ended things because I didn't want to hurt her or have her worrying about me all of the time with everything that's going on. It hit us both hard." I answer and he sighs.
"We can go back if you want?" He suggested and I shake my head and he nods. We then go to the door and he rings the doorbell.
My hands shake by my side, my heart races in my chest and there's the sting on my arm.
After a few minutes, the door opened and Rachel was there, she smiled at us and invited the two of us inside her house.
"We need to talk." My father whispered to her and she nods, "Go find the other two, you can go spend time."
"Please talk to Rea she isn't handling it well." She whispered and I shake my head and then go upstairs, going straight to Ryan's room.
I knocked and then walked inside, he's playing video games and when he looks at me, he stopped everything and turned off his playstation.
"Hey, what's wrong?" He asked and I close the door and the tears fall quickly, I go over to him and he hugged me tightly, "Hey, calm down. She told me what happened. About the break up."
"It's happening again, it's happening again and I hate it. You were there the last time, I need you again Ryan, I don't know what I am supposed to do but everything is hurting." I say to him and he tightened his grip around me.
"It's okay, I'm sorry. I am really sorry, it's going to be okay. I'm here, I'll stay here you can talk to me whenever you need to, you can stay with me for as long as you need it's going to be okay." He held me as I cried.
He holds me for around 15 minutes before he lets me sit in his bed and he sits with me and talks about random things. I find it oddly comforting.
But then there's a knock at the door, he hummed and in walked Rachel. She looks at me and walked over, bringing me into her arms and hugging me tightly.
"I love you, it's going to be okay." She whispered and I nod, "You are going to be okay."
I whisper her a small thank you before pulling away and we look at each other.
"Do you want to have some brownies? I baked them earlier today." She offered and I shake my head and she nods with a smile on her face, "They are downstairs if you need them."
"Thank you." I return the smile and she kissed my cheek before leaving and Ryan looked at me and he smiles, "I am going to go check up on the food downstairs, I think it's going to be ready soon anyway."
I leave the bedroom and go downstairs, they two are talking while something is cooking in the oven.
"I miss her." I sigh and sit down on one of the chairs and the dinning table and put my head in my arms on the table, "I regret it so bad."
"Let go of me! What the fuck Ryan!" A shout comes from upstairs and then there's a door slamming shut, "Fuck off!"
Then there's footsteps coming down the stairs at a fast speed.
"He just grabbed me and pushed me against the wall threatening me." She groaned and walked into the kitchen, "Oh, hi."
"I will go talk to your brother. Liam, take it out of the oven when the alarm goes off." Rachel told and he nods as she disappears upstairs.
My father went to the bathroom and Rea got a glass of apple juice.
"You alright?" She asked and I hum, "You surely don't look it."
"I feel like shit." I look up and she has damp cheeks and redness beneath her eyes and obvious signs she's been crying.
She walked over to me and sat down.
"I'm hurting Rea, everything and everywhere in my body is hurting." I whisper and she sighed and pulled me closer and her fingers run through my hair, "You aren't supposed to be doing this."
"Be quiet." She whispered and I sigh and lower my head again and she then began to draw shapes on my arm. It hurt but it felt nice, "What's on your mind?"
"Mostly you." I sigh and she chuckled, "It's not funny. It's pissing me off."
"I know it's annoying, I feel the same." She admits and I hummed.
"I shouldn't be here if we ended things today, we need time to move on." I whisper and she shook her head.
"I am not moving on, there's a chance and I am taking it." She told and I look at her, "I'm not giving up on us."
"Well us is over so good luck with that." I scoff and she shakes her head.
Her fingers trace lightly on the fabric of the sleeve on my arm, she draws shapes, she writes letters, she sends messages that she thinks I can't understand. It's calming me, she knows that.
"It's not, you would've moved by now if you think we are over, it's just distance. You want me to stay but don't want to admit it, I understand that." She whispered and I sigh.
My head goes back into my arms and I close my eyes and bring my arm away from her.
"I was happy with you Lyds, I still am. The happiest I've ever been was when we were together, just standing with each other or texting each other. You are the reason I am happy, now I don't know what to do without you." She whispered after a few minutes of silence.
"You are making this harder than it needs to be. I love you still, we have to deal with it."
