Y/N's POV

English literature has always been my favorite class at school. I love writing with a passion, something about it just feels so freeing, being able to write about whatever you want in whatever way you want.

But the thing that really makes the lesson fun, is Mrs Maximoff. Or Wanda, as she lets me call her.

Wanda was one of the first people who ever noticed I wasn't doing very well mentally. She treats me like a daughter which is greatly appreciated considering my own parents don't.

This woman is my rock, she holds me when I cry, she bandages my arms when they're all bloody and painful, she gives me extra time on all my work. She makes me feel loved, and that is the reason I am still alive today. She saved me.

Right now, I'm sat at the back of the classroom with my friend, Elliot. Having a boy best friend is the best, a lot less arguments occur and we always mess about so we spend half of our lessons laughing and getting told off by our teachers. Wanda doesn't mind, though. She finds us funny.

She even let us do karaoke in front of the class one time.

"Psst! Y/N/N?" Elliot whispers to me, I roll my eyes at the ridiculous nickname he always calls me.

"What?" I whisper back and just as I turn to look at him, he throws a piece of scrunched up paper at my head. We both immediately burst into laughter and everyone turns their heads to look at us.

"It's supposed to be silent reading, you two," Wanda lightly scolds us, but I can see her trying to hold back a chuckle. "Well, on that note, you can all close your books now," she tells the class.

"Wand- Mrs Maximoff," I correct myself since she told me I can't call her Wanda in front of the others. "Can we pretty please watch something for the lesson today? It's a double and the end of the day."

"Actually, that was my plan anyway. I managed to find a way to unblock the movie Blended from online because this school stops you from watching every movie ever," she jokes and switches the board over to the movie.

But instead of playing it, she moves to the middle of the front of the room. She has a nervous look about her.

"Right, my lovelies. Before I start the film, I have some news I need to share," she announces, I have a feeling of where this is going and I'm not liking it.

"She's not... is she?" I whisper to Elliot, who brings his desk and chair closer to me.

He doesn't have a chance to answer before Wanda continues speaking.

"As you all know, I've been working at this school now for four years, and I've been teaching you guys for a little over a year. It has been the biggest pleasure to teach your class and seeing each and every one of you expand your writing skills, it's really been incredible to watch. And that is why I'm sorry to say that I won't be here in the next school year."

My heart drops to my stomach at her words. All I can hear are the gasps of everyone else and Elliot trying to get my attention.

This is my heart teacher. She's the one who's taken care of me for two years, even before she was actually my teacher.

"Y/N?" Elliot tries again, shaking my arm.

"W-what?" I ask quietly, not being able to accept the news.
